This is a Mercedes 300D turbo diesel in unbelievably good condition, daily driver, only 148,963 original miles. If you do not know these super-engineered bullet-proof cars that are still used as taxicabs in many parts of Africa, and the engines easily go 400,000+ miles before needing a rebuild, then look up this vehicle on the web to get an idea. These cars are still very much in demand, with a timeless, clean look that still turns heads. They are built like a tank and last forever; apparently Mercedes built the car to pass from one generation to the next. Then automakers came to their senses and started making the disposable cars we now see all over. I bought this in July 2009; all papers related to my purchase and all repair receipts will come with car. Stock radio was removed in favor of a high-end Sony unit, with high-end speakers from Crutchfield, awesome sounding stereo with AUX input in the front. The original stock radio is included in purchase. All stereo installation was done professionally by a Mercedes mechanic. Steering wheel cover is custom, color-coordinated leather. You can remove it if you prefer, and the steering wheel itself is in pristine condition and appearance. Some notable repairs in last couple of years; starter motor, new battery, all fuel lines and filters are new, including screw-in filter in fuel tank, door seals are new, turbocharger is a rebuilt unit, glow plugs were changed, and the entire dash was removed to repair a defective vacuum unit that sometimes acts up in these cars and makes the A/C outlets not work properly. All work done by a Mercedes shop; the car runs perfect, starts fine, no leaks, no smoke, power antenna goes up/down like it should, power sun roof works fine and never leaks even in a car wash, tires are like new, and the highway ride of this car is unlike anything; the car drives so stable and steady, it is like a tank on the road with excellent handling, no shakes or vibrations. Faster you go, the more this car wants to hug the road. All gauges, lights, controls work, A/C is charged and works, the cruise control works fine. Oil changes, fluid changes, and maintenance have been done regularly on this car. Four-place mats are the expensive, heavy duty kind, from Weather Tech, matched to the interior color. Paint is original; some blemishes and weathering, but nothing that has needed any thoughts about repainting. Bumper rubber is also weathered, but not cracked or damaged. The paint looks better than some new cars which is why I did not get it repainted. Windshield had a ding, so I had a new one installed professionally by a glass shop; the new one has that Mercedes logo on the lower right side just like the original one. Serious bidders only please. Questions, inspections, queries are fine before auction ends. After auction ends, deposit $500 via PayPal, with balance due in 24 hours. Car will be kept in garage till pick-up by buyer, which should happen in a week after auction ends. Opening price of auction is reserve price which is set low enough so this car will definitely sell.
