1968 Mercury Cougar Numbers Matching LIME FROST GREEN DAN GURNEY SPECIAL Hello and thanks for looking at my auction. You are bidding on a completely original numbers matching survivor. This car was purchased from my wifes aunt a few years ago and i have not had the time to invest in a restoration that this car deserves, therefore it must go to someone who can appreciate it. This car is original from top to bottom. It was driven and last registered in 1986 and has been garage kept since then. I am the second owner of this car. Please look at the pictures and the video's and ask any questions before bidding. This is a perfect candidate for restoration and will be listed as a no reserve auction. I have the Marti Report and while this car is not a XR-7 it is still a desireable base model with a strong tight 302 motor. 16,920 Miles on this car!!! Mechanicals: I received the car in great condition and only needed to replace the carb to get it running. All the glass is original and perfect. The interior seats are in need of a recover, but the carpets are perfect. This car was driven by a nice old couple who took very good care and maintained this classic. Unfortunately the elements (North East Car) took their toll on the body and there is rust on the bottom rear quarters and on the right side. This car will need some body work to make perfect. I disconnected the heater hoses as they were dry rot, prior to that I did run with the heater on full blast and it worked and was hot. I disconnected to prevent a potential leak. I have new heater hose that will go with the car.
