Vehicle Detail
For sale is my 1981 Honda CX500C motorcycle. It is in very good condition, starts, runs, everything works (lights, turn signals, horn, speedometer, etc) and it will pass a safety inspection. It has a clear/clean title and was registered in New York State. It is black and has 18,800 miles. New Metzeler tires (front and back) were put on last year. Die Hard battery is two years old. Carbs rebuilt in 2005.I have owned it for 7 years and did some minor custom changes such as installing a lucas style tail light with L.E.D. bulb, L.E.D. turn signals, Harley Sportster shocks, handle bars from a '78 CX500, radiator shroud painted black, center stand removed...If you want an "original condition" CX500 it would be relatively simple to reverse the mods I did. I have receipts for various maintenance and parts from over the years. Bike will include the repair manual and sissy bar but will not include the luggage bags. It has some things that need attention and eventually fixed. It runs but runs a little rough, as if the carbs need to be cleaned. The front forks are slightly spongy. The choke is operated by hand at the carberator (the cable is there but the return spring is not tight enough), very slight coolant leak ( I haven't had to add coolant in years, just drips a tiny bit after use), I had the fuel tank sealed and painted about 6 years ago but the paint is bubbling at the seam in one spot, small size rip in seat. I am trying to be as honest and straight forward about the info on my bike because I like positive feedback. Please do not bid if you don't have the money to purchase it or if you have less than 10 positive feedbacks! $200 deposit is required with 48 hours after end of auction. Pick-up only unless you handle all the shipping arrangements. I really need the room in my garage so I don't want to hold the bike very long after the auction ends. Bike is located in Nassau County, New York. If you are interested in this classic bike (I had antique/historic insurance and it was cheap!) and have any questions, please ask before bidding.
