Vehicle Detail
You are looking at my 1950 GMC 3/4 ton Pickup The frame-up restoration completed was in 2001. Currently it has 9394 Miles since being completely rebuilt, but may have a few more miles because if it is a nice day I may drive it. This truck features the original rebuilt GMC 228CI Engine. I replaced the stock 1 barrel zenith with a NOS 2 barrel Stromburg carburetor mounted on a 2 barrel manifold from a 302 military engine about 2 months ago. It has HEI Electronic Ignition, Fenton Headers and dual exhaust with glass pack mufflers. It can be a little obnoxious sounding when you step on the gas. It is lowered 3" in front with Posies Springs, I do have the stock springs. The rear is lowered by removing some of the leafs since I was not hauling anything in it at the time. I do have the stock rear leafs and the overloads that could be put back on as well. I have updated steering / tie rod with 1 ton components so it has modern style tie rod ends. It drives and steers very nicely. It has a rebuilt SM420 4 speed Transmission. New 215/85R16 Diamondback Wide whitewall radial tires and 1 piece 16" steel wheels in 2010. I have the stock split rim type wheels and GMC hubcaps that go with it as well. It has a 12 volt with alternator and an auxiliary fuse box with 18 circuits under the dash. It ahs all new wiring harness when it was rebuilt. I still have the stock Generator that was converted to 12 volts and a matched 12 volt regulator if you want to go back to a generator. It has a Chevrolet front sway bar. It has a stock full floating rear axle with a 4.11 ratio pumpkin out of a 1970 Chevrolet 3/4 ton truck to give better highway speed. Both front and rear axles had new bearings when it was restored. It has an AM/FM Stereo with USB input for a ipod or MP3 player, The stereo fits in the dash so it has not been cut. I have the blank out plate for the dash too. It has much brighter Stock style stainless steel LED tail lights It has Dynamat soundproofing under the floor mats to reduce the road noise although you can still enjoy the sound of the truck. The truck has an Optima battery. No rust, the frame was stripped and repainted with black Imron paint. The body was completely restored although obviously not stock paint colors. It does have reproduction floor panels. The paint is a GM Metallic Silver and GM Black. When the truck was restored, it was removed from the frame and the body was completely disassembled. Each body part was painted and then truck was re-assembled. The paint is ten years old, so there are a few scratches and chips but looks very good. The truck was painted to look just like Harley-Davidson's 1952 Chevrolet dime bank that they released in 2001. Bed is yellow pine with urethane finish. it is starting to show some age but still looks nice. This truck has the deluxe fresh air heater. The truck has rebuilt gauges and all rubber parts were replaced when it was rebuilt. The seat is in excellent shape and is the correct stitching for the GMC, which was different tan the Chevrolet. I do have a cover on it right now. I have an extra lower seat cushion and upper cushion. Runs and Drives Great! I have all receipts. This truck was Featured in Vintage Truck magazine. This truck is printed on several T-Shirts including Harley-Davidson Dealer shirts as well as car show shirts. The doors have vinyl graphics on them so you could remove them if you want. I have many more pictures available to see or if you want to see in person, call 402-875-3154 for more details. The bed rail has an issue with one of the rails. When I restored it there was no reproduction bed sides being made so the Rod Shop doing the paint work had some bed sides made and bonded the tubes to the bed side rails and one of the rails has a crack in the bonded area. I was going to weld it up and repaint but have not got it done. The bed rails have the stock stake pockets on the sides and look just like the originals except for no openings on the top for stakes. You can see it in the picture. I have around $23,000 invested into it. I don't really want to sell it as I have owned it for more that 14 years and other than paint have done all the work myself. But like many other people, financial conditions are forcing me too. I have a modest reserve on this truck. It is also listed locally so I reserve the right to cancel the auction if someone buys it. Thanks for looking and if you have any questions please ask. More pictures here: Copy and paste into a new window. http://community.webshots.com/album/580096390itoKSl?vhost=community
