Vehicle Detail
1995 S-320 V Long Wheel Base Mercedes - 2nd owner and original owner was my father in law - Car has not been driven in a few months - Always reliable, we have owned in our family since 1998. We bought it from Viti Mercedes in Tiverton with a full Starmark warranty. Car was in one major accident when my wife was hit from front and rear but frame was sound and car was fully repaired. However I believe that accident casued car to begin rusting a few years later. Mild to moderate rust over wheel wells and on trunk base. We get 25 mpg on highway in this car. Perfect engine never burned a drop of oil. Major issue is transmission seems to have gone. Car starts but does not go into any gear above third gear, after which engine starts to rev up but car goes no faster and there is no torque. This limits speed to about 35 mph on level ground. Other than this, everything fine on this car. Traction control perfect and really works well. Interior fine, no rips or tears, just expected wear. XM radio also. 6 CD alpine CD changer in trunk, everything works, air cond. fine, tires fine (75-80%), many new parts, dealer-maintained. I just dont know hiow much repair is going to cost and frankly dont need the car. We tried to add transmission fluid but that did not help so I would not assume that this repair is going to be inexpensive. My mechanic has said he thinks its going to be about $2000, but it could be a bit less or more. KBB has this listed at a private party value of $3725 in fair condition, but my reserve is way lower than that. You can drive it away but you wont get anywhere too fast if you are not local.
