Vehicle Detail

For Auction: My 1989 Porsche 944 Turbo. If you’re looking for a Very Original, Stock, Black, Black Leather car check mine out. I have garage kept this car for 2 years. I am only selling it to fund a Father and son project and to start a watch repair business. I was a master auto tech for 22 years and i retired last June. I am going into business to repair fine mechanical wrist watches now. My car has these options….. 030, 220, 454, 490, 494, 553, 573, 593, 650, 946. At 103,653 miles I replaced the battery, the balance shaft and timing belt. Next was both front motor mounts. That smoothed the car tremendously. When I bought it the car had all the original coolant hoses. All of those have been replaced as well as the T stat and total fresh coolant. I replaced the plugs, cap and rotor and installed a K and N drop in filter. I replaced the front brake pads and repacked the wheel bearings with high grade synthetic grease. At the same time I put new front tires on. When I aligned it I got a chance to use a Hoffman wireless alignment rack and I even borrowed the special tool to adjust the rear. Cars alignment is set up for the street. It tracks and drives incredible at 80 MPH. I’ve gotten 28 miles per gallon at 80. At 65 it would get 30/31. You can go 400 plus miles on a tank. Things to consider for the future……… The A/C blows very cold intermittently. Some people like A/C and some don’t. This car has a 134 compressor in it. I spent a lot of time diagnosing the A/C and I am pretty sure the expansion valve needs to be replaced if you want the air to work. The cruise control is another item that intermittently works. The second owner told me he did not use it and neither did I. He had owned this car since 1994. Only 3 other items in the car do not work: the rear switch for the driver power seat up down control, the motors good just needs the switch, and the Sony cd player plays great but has very poor FM reception. I didn’t realize that the 944 has an amplified power antenna in the windshield. It will have to be hooked up if you want good FM reception. All the speakers are original and sound very good. The hood cylinders are the only other things that need to be replaced at this time. The car itself has all the original VIN tags. All the glass is original. No corrosion or rust. The original engine has the M44/52 code stamp and runs very good. Good spool, no smoke. Entire drive train is original to the car. Trans has short throws and smooth firm shifts. Leather is nice, passenger lower seat leather bolster has firmed up and has a few stitches lost around where your left and right leg would be. Dash has very small cracks where the defrost hole outlets are. Something common I’ve seen on these. Carpets are real nice yet. There looks like a bleach stain on the rear hatch carpet. See pics. The wheels are original and have not been refinished. Paint is very nice but has minor cosmetics and patina everywhere. It’s a driver. The hood has a spot that in the pics is the only unsightly thing to me. You have to look to notice, you might not think it’s bad. Any questions please ask me. I will give you all the paper work I have for the car as well the original owners manuals, 2 keys, the OEM wheel locks, the old Blaupunkt tape deck and a brand new OEM Porsche hat I received as a gift in the original package. All the tools, Porsche air compressor, jack, spare are all there and were never used. My mother is the notary at a Porsche dealer for the last 20 years and can handle at my home all the legalities for a smooth transaction. I have a clear Pennsylvania title in hand. Winning bidder to pay a $500 non refundable deposit within 48 hours after auction end. Paypal is what I prefer for payment for the balance due. This is a No Reserve auction. Winner will be required to pick up car within 7 business days. No warranty offered and sold as is. No shipping is offered at this time. Email me any questions and I will give you my home number if would you like to talk in person about the car. I am located in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania. I sold my 92 Lexus SC400 with no problems here on ebay. My feedback is 100% . Thanks and good luck. On May-04-11 at 15:12:43 PDT, seller added the following information:Many Bidders and potential bidders have requested more detailed pics of the seats and front bumper as well as cosmetics of the car. If you send me your email address i will send them to you. I want (you) the customer to be pleased with your purchase. My opinion may vary person to person so i encourage you to ask or request pics. As i disclosed in the questions area i will not end the auction because i am feeling out a Porsche 944 market. High Bidder will win. 0 feedbacks or less than 10 positives must email me or i have to cancell your bid. Nothing personal. I want the committed bidder to win fairly. Thanks Chronoswan
