Vehicle Detail

FEATURES & OPTIONS: You are looking at a 1964 (sold in 1963) Chevrolet C 10 (C-conventional half ton) fendered step side "short box" pickup truck (without the side tire mount). This truck was sometimes known as the Apache 10. It still has the 292 cubic inch 3.8L inline 6 cylinder engine in front of a four speed (3 speed with granny) stick shift. This was to be a project car for my youngest son who decided, after I brought it home that he didn't want it. I purchased the truck from an auto body shop who took it in as payment from a rancher so the history is vague at best. We do have a clear title "pink slip" and it's on a non-op with California DMV. Mileage reads 111,100.9 but I can't vouch for the accuracy. Overall it is a sound body to begin a project with no major damage or rust. Given what I just said, it's 47 years old and, like me, is showing it's age. The nice thing is it's a reasonably sound truck and, with the exception of the heater and non operational engine, all the parts are there. And it begins: The front is faded badly and there is the beginnings of surface rusting but no damage or major dents with the exception of a minor distortion "not creased" on the grill piece. You're also looking at the original license plate (one of two). Lights and turn have the shrouding and glass. Left Driver's Side, like the front has good glass and no significant dents or major rust. There is serious fading and light surface rusting only. Window works and original mirror has glass. The C 10 emblem is still in good shape. Back Side (rear) has a steel bumper and the tail gate has been spot welded where the original spot welding took place. It's actually in pretty good shape. Lights are embedded in the bumper and the bumper itself is in fairly good shape. The bed wood is gone but the steel is intact and in fair shape. The upper rail of the tail gate is dented from day to day use while the bed sides and rail is actually in pretty good shape. Passenger side has the worse denting and mostly restricted to the door although the finder has some dimpling. The mirror is also gone but the mount is still there. Like the driver's side the C 10 emblem is also in good shape. There is no significant rusting on the doors at all, and both doors work well. Glass in this door is good as well, and works including the wind wing or vent window. I've included additional pictures showing the interior which is in pretty fair shape. The instrument panel is really in nice shape as is the dash overall. The ash tray is in and there is the original blank (very hard to find) panel covering the hole for the radio. Lastly, and as I mentioned, everything is there with the exception of the heater. It's missing the top part. The engine is frozen and I have no idea to what extent the damage, if any, is. My intent was to slip in a new six and keep it stock. My son wanted to rebuild a 350 that is also included (it's complete and on an engine stand - stand not included). Tires hold air but it's for rolling only. Brakes are mechanically sound but has no fluid. Please look over the photos and include any questions you might have. Questions are welcome
