1996 Audi A6 Quattro Avant (Wagon). V-6, 2.8L engine, all-wheel drive, automatic, leather, electric sunroof, power brakes, steering, locks, CC, heated seats, AM/FM stereo with remote factory CD player. This car has only about 157,000 original miles on it and is a 2-owner vehicle. I purchased this car from the original owner in 2001 with 78,000, mostly highway miles on it. The car had always been well-maintained (including regular full-synthetic oil changes). Never in an accident and still wearing it’s original - and very beautiful - pearl white paint. The only cosmetic damage on the entire body, save for a couple of light scratches, is the passenger mirror that was knocked-off and there is a little nickel-sized chip in the paint, on the forward edge of the hood. I have a replacement passenger mirror for this car, but it is in a regular white finish, not pearl paint. The car had been running great - no problems - and after the mirror got knocked-off, the car was parked. The battery went dead and the car was then jump-started, which apparently “took-out” some electronic module or modules. The key also sticks and so will not properly return to the “run” position. The sunroof opened by itself when the car was jump-started and then refused to close. As a consequence of the open sunroof, the car did sustain some pretty extensive water damage to the interior seating. Also, the hatchback lid will not open, due to a broken latch that needs to be replaced. The dashboard and instruments are all in perfect condition. As a consequence of the various electronic issues and the extensive water damage done to the passenger front seat and the rear seats, this vehicle is being sold only as a “project car” or for parts. Very sad, especially considering the overall fantastic condition of the body and the paintwork - having no rust anywhere! Even the undercarriage is virtually perfect! The engine and drive train were also in great shape when the car was parked, so I would assume that they would still be fine, although no guarantees on this. This car could be just the ticket for the right person, who either knows these cars well or who may have another similar vehicle they are restoring and so would be interested in the many great parts available from this car. However, considering the above electrical problems and the resulting water damages, you have been duly notified and so should bid accordingly on this vehicle. Free and Clear title in-hand. Otherwise, buyer is to arrange and pay for any necessary transportation or shipping services on this vehicle.
