This auction is for a used Mercedes 450 SEL car. I bought this car several months ago from a local auction. It was traded in to a dealer and they thought it had a bad radiator. But it only had a leaking radiator hose which I replaced and now it runs great. The only other thing I have done to it is I had the local muffler shop installed a new muffler hanger as the old one was bad. I have been using it daily for the last few weeks and it starts and runs great and has been very reliable. The odometer reads 90,952 miles, but it will have more as I am still driving it every day a little. The engine is a V-8 gasoline, it is not a diesel. It has not used any oil and it runs smoothly down the road. The transmission is a automatic and it shifts and drive like it should. The battery stays up and the car starts up even after sitting for several weeks without being run. The interior is in very good condition for its age. The seats are in good condition and the carpet and dash are good as well. All the gauges work and even the clock tells the correct time. The car has air conditioning, but it does not work. I can not get the fan to turn on any of the settings except for defrost. The car was repainted not too long ago and the exterior looks good. It is not all rusty. The glass is good, and the mirrors as well. It has a newer nice digital Panasonic stereo installed. The tires are 195-75 R14's and they are in good condition. I have not had to add any air to them. Here are the things I have noticed that are wrong with it: 1. Power steering is a little loud sometimes. It works fine and does not appear to leak, but it whines a little. 2. One taillight has a chip out of the lens - see photo. It still works fine. 3. The radio has a loose power wire or something. Sometimes it turns itself off and then back on. 4. The drivers side rear window does not power all the way up. The power windows all work, but this one only goes partially up. 5. The sunroof works fine, but when you go to close it, it moves slowly forward. It may need greasing. It does not leak. 6. There are fog lights under the front bumper and one of them is broken. 7. The hood latch cable and handle have come loose from under the dash. You have to pull the wire with pliers to open the hood. 8. The turn signals work, but one side flashes faster than the other. 9. The steering column makes a rattle sound. It steers and drives tight, but it rattles sometimes. 10. The cruise does not turn on. This is a very straight and clean Mercedes for a 1979. It seems to be very reliable and I would not be afraid to drive it across the country to get it home. You are welcome to come drive the car and test it out before the auction ends. I have a neighbor kid that helps me on the farm that will deliver stuff sometimes. I require payment in full within one week of auctions end. Once it is paid for, there is no hurry for you to pick it up - take six months if need be! If you don't come get it after six months have passed since the end of the auction, it will be resold, and my wife gets the proceeds. LOCAL PICK UP I am a cattle farmer here in Mid-Missouri, so I am flexible about when you want to come and get items you have purchased from me, but I try and keep a schedule for my families benefit. I ask that you come between 9:00 in the morning and 4:00 at night. I am not available on Sundays whatsoever - that is God and family day, so don't ask! Just because I am a farmer does not mean that I am here everyday, I travel around to auctions and surplus sales and am gone several times a week. So don't do like some folks have in the past and drive 800 miles to get here and find out I am gone. You must contact me before you just show up!
