Vehicle Detail

This auction is for a 2008 Suzuki Hayabusa, candy blue, with wine-red Kanjis, and wine-red forged aluminum wheels. Nothing else is included, except as listed belowClear title, in my name, in my hand.I can take additional pictures. Let me know what you want to see.The bike has always been dealer maintained. It has always been garaged. It was never raced (owned by an ‘older gentleman’, as I like to refer to myself). It is fast, powerful, and handles pretty well. I have it set up for supersport touring. But the platform lends itself to other styles, as well. The bike as set-up leans more toward canyon riding than the drag-strip (heavy exhaust removed, 1” raise in back). But it can be lowered pretty easily, if that’s your style and preference.I’m selling it because it just sits in my garage. I don’t ride it since I got my cruiser (my body’s getting close to 60. I don’t bend as easily as I used to). It’s actually pretty comfy with the heli-bars and lowered pegs. I used it as a daily driver for about 6 months.I get about 44 MPH in a mixture of stop-and-go and freeway. Probably a little worse in all stop-and-go, and somewhat better all freeway. Tank is 5 gal. (maybe a little more) so you get 160 miles easily between fill-ups.There is an outstanding rectifier recall on the bike. I never had an issue (battery is strong, always stored on BatteryTender) but I’m taking it in for the replacement, anyway. I’m having the 11K service performed at the same time, at my cost, to assure the new owner they have a solid bike. BTW, the ‘clutch bolt’ recall was done, previously, i.e. everything up to date.As for shipment, I’ll do so reluctantly, but it will be up to the buyer to arrange all facets. I can’t deliver the bike to the shipper, or otherwise help much. (There’s at least one company that will pick the bike up at my house and transport it to your door for from $500 to $750, depending on what part of the country you’re in. I would support this method).Full purchase price must clear before the bike is delivered to the purchaser.I would STRONGLY PREFER that the new owner pick the bike up. This just seems more wise to me. But like I said, I’ll have it inspected prior to turnover. I’m in Rosamond California, about 11 miles from Lancaster. It’s at most a three hour drive here from just about anyplace in Central and Southern Cal. (about a 4 hour drive from Vegas).Sorry, but NO test rides. The bike is mechanically sound, and just as I’ve described. I’ll ride it FOR YOU to demonstrate. But no one is going to ride this without first paying for it. (If you wreck it after you’ve paid for it, that’s your prerogative). If you don’t like this arrangement, then please don’t bid. The bike is being sold ‘as is’. This means its condition is to the best of my knowledge (and to the best of the dealer’s ability to inspect it) exactly as stated here. But no one guarantees anything. I’ll have an inspection done by the dealer during the rectifier/11K service. The new owner is welcome/encouraged to contact the dealer directly in order to discuss the bike’s condition. As for payment, etc., there’s a $1000 PayPal deposit due within 24 hours of auction close. If no response from buyer in that time, I’ll take appropriate measures, including relisting the bike and blocking the unsuccessful payer’s bids. The balance of payment will need to be in cash (preferably). The balance is due within 7 days of auction close. Same deal with the balance if it’s not paid in the time frame, i.e., relist bike, and block bidder. If for some reason you pay the deposit and can’t finish the deal, I will not keep all the deposit. But I will keep what it costs me to relist. This is fair. If you don’t like it, please don’t bid. I’m guessing a re-list fee will be less than 100 bucks, but it’s really up to eBay if they’ll charge me, and if they do, what amount the re-list will be.I do NOT want the balance paid via PayPal and will refund such payments. The balance of the auction payment needs to be made in CASH, and preferably in person.I welcome your questions. I will answer all questions to the best of my ability. · 2008 Suzuki Hayabusa (1340cc), Blue/Black· 9,800 Miles· Purchased new in May 2009· Clutch recall performed· Rectifier recall scheduled· Runs good, major services dealer performed. The ‘11K’ mile service is scheduled to be performed during the clutch recall service. I’ll have the bike inspected to ensure there are no issues.Features:· Dunlop Q2’s front/rear (lots of tread remaining)· Carrozzeria wheels (forged aluminum), red anodized FP Tactical 6-way adjustable levers (matte black finish)· Hot Bodies fender eliminator· K&N air filter· ECM programming via ‘Boost By Smith’ ‘flash’ interface and ECUEditor software (interface provided with sale)· Yoshimura R-77 titanium cans with carbon fiber tips (stock header/collector/cat)· 1” extended dog-bones (for better handling)· 2009 GSXR-1000 radial front-brake master cylinder· 2009 GSXR-1000 monoblock front calipers with EBC HH pads· Braided-steel front brake-lines· ‘Ducati’ style rear-view mirrors· Corbin leather seat· Throttlemeister throttle-lock· Heli-bars· 1” lowered (Buell) pegs The 'original' (gold) wheels/tires, and all other take-off parts (cowl, rear seat, pegs, etc.), included in sale. Also included: A used (unscratched) Zero Gravity 'touring' windscreen, dark smoke. (It comes up a little higher than the stock windshield.)Issue:There’s just one. I use saddle bags with the bike, and there’s some very light scratching on the rear quarter panels (that carry the turn signals). I rubbed this out, but on the right, left some of the compound on the bike. (I didn’t notice it, i.e., it was in the crack between the quarter panel and the rear cowl. The material lifted the paint in about a ¼-inch by 6 inch area in the crack. (See photo). It’s not particularly noticeable since it’s on the underside of the surface. But be aware it’s there. There’s no other issues with the bike, save for incidental nicks etc. such as you’d expect of a well-cared-for bike with 9.8K miles on it. On Apr-24-11 at 13:11:34 PDT, seller added the following information: That should be 44 Miles Per Gallon (MPG) versus MPH. It'll go somewhat faster than 44 MPH...
