Vehicle Detail
1966 Autumn Bronze Oldsmobile Toronado – “Deluxe” trim level VIN – 396876M521799 CA plate – TJB 264 This original rust-free San Francisco vehicle was sold new in early December 1966 by Krieger Oldsmobile. Read more about Krieger Oldsmobile: http://home.comcast.net/~sarahdyoung/harrykrieger.html The Autumn Bronze exterior and matching interior colors were the most exciting choices for this vehicle in 1966. This car was owned by one couple from 1966 – 2005. It was always garaged and remains in storage in the original owner’s garage – see images. The car has ~112K miles w/no dents or accidents. All features including the clock work. Features include; - Deluxe trim level - All-vinyl interior w/notch-back front seat - Manual windows - Manual seat adjuster - No A/C - AM radio Documentation includes; - Bill of sale - Dealer brochure - Owner’s manual w/Protect-O-Plate - Receipts for all work done since 2005 - Original black plates - Recent service includes; - Front drive boots - Tires - Rebuilt front seat w/exact match vinyl and stitching - One repaint many years ago (late 80’?) Issues: - Engine recently developed blow-by, needs to be rebuild. Works fine around town but cannot be driven on the freeway – smoky - Crack on passenger side dash pad - Carpet is faded - Crack on rear seat surround - Chrome fender spray guards – can be removed - Body-color rub strip – removed with a heat gun? - Scratched lower cowl panel – passenger side interior - Replacement radio antenna This vehicle is a great original vehicle that deserves the engine rebuild for recreational driving and club events. Alternatively this vehicle is an exceptional foundation for a full restoration – never rusted or damaged. Pricing factors in the cost of an engine rebuild. I bought this car from the original owner in 2005. I drive it so infrequently that I can’t rationalize the effort and cost to have the engine rebuilt.
