Hello, this auction is for a 1976 CJ5. I've owned it for about five years, I'm selling it because we're moving and I need the money. The jeep is road ready and ready to go. It has a 3 speed transmission and an inline 6cyl that runs great and is very strong. Since i've had it i've put new tires, brakes, plugs and wires, mirrors, windshield and rubber, top and seats. The seats arent really new b/c a junkyard business next door to my business gave me the seats for free out of a wrecked PT Cruiser. Headlights/taillights work fine as do the windshield wipers. I have not got the blinkers working yet, just haven't had time to start on them. The oil pressure and speedometer gauges work fine (speedometer needle does float a little sometimes) but fuel gauge and battery guage have not been hooked up yet. The wiring is there but guy before me started re-wiring the whole thing and finished half-way thru w/o hooking everything up. First gear is tricky sometimes if engine hasn't idled all the way down. Occasionally i have to start of in 2nd but it shifts fine. I don't have the doors or hard top to it. I've done alot of work to it and it runs great. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. I apologize to the people that are already watching for not doing my homework before posting but I had the incorrect year posted. When I purchased the Jeep I was told it was a '76 CJ and the VIN plate always looked to dirty/rusty to read so I never bothered with it but after some elbow grease and steel wool I found out it was made in '77.
