You are bidding on a 1949 MGTC Red over Red leather interior. This is a complete numbers matching (see photos) 2 owner car in good original and serviceable condition. Has been with the same owner for more than the last 30 years. Approximately 20 years ago the car benefited from a complete mechanical restoration to include but not limited to, complete engine rebuild, new wiring harness, new clutch and brakes. At about the same time it had a new leather interior, top and side curtains installed. All of which are still in very good condition today. Since that time, the car has probably not been driven more than a few thousand miles in total. For the past few years the car has seen very little use. Currently runs and drives (at least it would with a fresh battery and gas), but would certainly need a tune-up to have it back on the road. The engine runs smooth and very quiet, attributed partly to the complete stainless steel exhaust system. The steering box has the typical Tompkins kit installed as well. Brakes were sticking a little the last time it was driven so they might need some attention or at least some excercise. Tires are old and will certainly need replacing. It remains in very good complete and original condition today. Overall paint and interior are average for a 62 year old collector car. Leather seats are still nice but the interior could use a new carpet kit. Please ask all questions prior to bidding and do not bid if you do not intend to buy.
