The Volkswagen Corrado is a 3-door, 2+2 compact hatchback developed by Volkswagen as the successor to the Scirroco and built by Karmann in Osnabruck, Germany. Mileage: 108386 on March 8, 2011 Features & Options: Sunroof, Anti-Lock Brakes, Air Conditioning, Cruise Control, Power Windows, Power Locks, Rear Spoiler, Reclining Bucket Seats, Stainless Steel Exhaust System. There is no Radio or audio system. The car gets @34 mpg on the road; less around town. Additional Equipment and accessories: a fifth full-size wheel and tire, a small box of miscellaneous parts,2 CD-ROM set VW Service & Repair Manuals 1983-2000 Engine: 4 cylinders, 1.8 L, supercharged Transmission: 5 speed manual Color: Red (see photos) Comments: After 20+ years, plastics are brittle. Pennsylvania Safety Inspection good through November 2011; No Emissions Inspection has ever been done (not needed in Butler County). I purchased the vehicle on December 22, 1997. (Note: All Service Records from this date to the present are available for review.) Warranty: Car will be sold AS-IS. Car is drivable (and it is fun to drive). Condition: See photos. Sunroof and rear spoiler are fully operational. A/C needs recharging (or repair). Catalytic Converter needs replacement; rest of exhaust system OK. Left Headlamp lens is cracked. There is rust damage on Hatchback. Paint is poor. Car sports a Corrado VR-6 hood instead of the stock G-60 hood. G-lader has never been rebuilt. Sunroof headliner has peeled away from metal( causing a continual vibration rattle. Car drives well at speeds over 45mph; VWs clunky manual transmission detracts from driving experience below 45mph; Car vibrates at idle (probably due to cam or deteriorating engine mounts). Struts and posts are in good condition.
