Vehicle Detail
69 IH Scout 800.This project rig has been sitting around in my shop for about 6 years now and I don't seem to find the time or money to fix it up right. Odometer shows 80 some thousand miles, I don't know if this is correct. It has a 196 4 Cyl., Three speed manual Trans, and posi rear end. It runs fair but ticks some when you first start it after it's been sitting awhile.I think it has a sticky lifter or two from not being driven more than once or twice a year. Quiets down after it runs awhile. Does have a few oil leaks. The four wheel drive system works good. The front drive shaft is off right now cuz it needs to be lenthend, I put a spring over lift kit in it and now the front drive shaft is to short. Most of the spring bushings were replaced with new ones at that time. Also put new brake shoes in the front and put a new starter and fuel pump in. Does have some rust but is still solid. Floors have small pin holes thru but are pretty solid yet. You could go right over them with POR-15 and would look great. Body has some rust coming thru and previous owner slaped some bondo and a cheap paint job on it about 8 years ago but didn't do a very good job. Most of the lights and signals work except for maybe some dash lights. Some of the gauges aren't working but I have another whole gauge cluster I will give you. I am also throwing in a Pickup Half Top if you want to make a little pickup. It is from a older parts Scout I had but it didn't have the removable bulk head. I cut out the Bulk Head from it and you will just need to install mounting brackets on it to use it. It also has two gas tanks but only one is working Tires are 33X12.50X15's. This Scout will need some TLC, but is a good start for a really nice truck or just fix some of the odds and ends and drive it as it is. I have only driven it around the yard a few times every summer for the last 3 or 4 years so it may need some work to make it roadworthy. Scout needs to be picked up within 30 days after sale ends. I will deliver or meet you up to 500 miles for $1.50 per mile charged one way. Thanks for looking and good luck !!!!On Apr-14-11 at 19:20:36 PDT, seller added the following information: I was asked how the floor under the carpet in the rear is. Carpets are glued down and were that way when I bought the scout so I can't see under them. However I did go under the scout and floors look good. Just surface rust and looks solid. The only place I noticed some rust through was on the side of the tub behind the right rear wheel. Also a couple of the little channels under the floor are rusted and the right front body mount is just starting to rust through. I want to be as honest as possible with everyone and don't want you to have any unwanted unexpected surprises. This is a 40 plus year old rig.
