This 1989 Chevrolet 3+3 crew cab 4x4 is fully equipped with everything Chevy had to offer, and more. The truck was shipped from GM as a fully loaded crew cab, long bed in ‘89 and remained relatively unaltered until 4 years ago.The idea was to keep the truck’s appearance like GM should have built it, but with a more aggressive stance, better ride, updated interior and most notable, a short bed. General Motors never offered this truck with a 6.5 foot bed so while were were dreaming about how to build one, we came across this truck with the major work already done, and what an outstanding job they did. After inspecting the factory appearance of the shortened drivetrain we put it on the alignment rack to tell the whole story and found the chassis to be within tighter tolerances than GM’s specifications.The truck rides amazing with a few minor upgrades to complement the primarily stock suspension. This includes four 5100 series Bilstien shocks, a 3 inch suspension lift and an oversized front sway bar to keep the truck planted. The wheels are new 20x10 chrome plated Ion Forged alloy wheels wrapped in 35 inch Cooper SST tires. Just aggressive enough to look like a truck but not too extreme where it looses drivability.Power train is a factory fuel injected 5.7 liter V-8 and turbo 400 automatic transmission. Up front is a Dana 44 differential and a 14 bolt in the rear. The motor runs perfectly smooth with good power, the transmission shifts solid through every gear with no slip or delay and the four wheel drive works properly in high and low range. The truck currently has 122,795 miles. The motor and transmission were rebuilt four years ago when the truck had approximately 110k miles on it.Nice 4 year old base/clear paint in the factory Summit White color code over a rock solid 100% rust free body. Before the truck was sprayed the stake pockets and the locks were filled for a subtle and clean appearance. The exterior was then finished off with a fresh wrap of factory style beltline trim and a spray-in bed liner. After 4 years the paint is still very nice and perhaps best rated as excellent driver quality with deep gloss and very straight body work. The only considerable paint flaw is 3 hairline cracks on the front center of the hood where you commonly push the hood to close it, visible only on close inspection. The short bed has a single fuel fill so the dual tanks were changed out for a single 30 gallon Suburban tank in the rear.Inside the truck retains its factory gray trim with the exception of a plus one generation leather seating package. Fully optioned with factory power windows, power door locks, remote keyless entry, power mirrors, cruise, tilt, air conditioning and a high end Alpine AM/FM/CD/MP3/XM stereo with 2 in dash speakers, 2 6” custom kick panel speakers, 2 6x9” rear speakers and an amplified 10” subwoofer beneath the rear seat. The front seats were originally power and now use the trucks original manual sliders to keep the seat height correct.The seat heaters are still in the seats and could easily be functional if the new owner chooses. When the seats were out the complete cab floor was sound deadened with Dynamat under the new carpet kit, keeping the road noise very minimal. The original gray dash pad and door panels are in excellent condition. The leather is soft and supple on the seats with minimal wear.
