Vehicle Detail
1984 Porsche 944, Needs work! Bought this about 2 years ago, new clutch, new windshield, ran great for about a year then started overheating. Replaced the radiator (with another used one), still overheated. Replaced the head gasket and installed a new waterpump, still overheated. I let it sit for a year and came back, replaced the head with a known good used one, new head gasket (again) and new seals on the oil cooler. When I pulled the head this last time there was an oil/water mix in the cooling system. Put it all back together and it's still overheating and pushing oil into the cooling system. I have another 84 944 that's my daily driver (have had it for 9 years now) and frankly, I'm done with this one. I do not have the time or motivation to keep messing with it. I do not know what's wrong but I have to be honest and say it is possible that the block is cracked and that is why it's getting oil in the cooling system. I may have messed up replacing the oil cooler seals so it's either that or the worst case, cracked block. This car does come with an additional motor from an 84 that was in perfect running condition when it was taken out. The extra motor is partially disassembled, the head and oil cooler have been pulled. I am confident that the spare motor can be put in and you'll have a good runner, I am just not up to swapping motors, I have too many other projects and unfortunately have to work for a living also. The car was painted by the previous owner and it's not bad. A few chips from the idiots that park next to you but other than that it's respectable. The paint is chipped around the rear bumper fairings, my son backed it into a pole and when the bumper fairings flexed, the paint chipped/cracked. Bumper is fine, the plastic fairings just need to be re-painted. Like I said previously, it has a new clutch about a year old, new windshield and the extra motor. Interior is okay but like most 944's this old, it can use some cleaning up. Any questions please ask, I will be more than happy to answer and provide anymore pictures if interested. Please hjelp me get this out of my driveway, it deserves better and needs a good home! Thanks!
