Vehicle Detail
follow this link to a walk around video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c04LiFJgN-8 Nice 1952 Chevrolet driver. Car has tons of upgrades done to it including mid 70's Camaro front subframe which also gives it power steering and front disc brakes. The rear is also Camaro with 3.42 gears and positive traction. The Camaro also donated tilt steering and power brakes. Power comes from a mild stock rebuild Cadillac 425 with a RV grind cam keeping with the low end torque theme. It does leak a drop or two of oil but nothing horrible. Carb is a qjet, alternator is a new chrome 100 amp, starter is freshly rebuilt. Radiator was bought new and has new water pump, fan clutch and belts. The transmission is a TH200-4R 4 speed automatic overdrive. It has some durability and shift improving enhancements and has a Grand National torque converter with 4th gear lock-up. Car runs out good and I've been on a few 100 mile plus road trips. It is very comfortable and tame. I averaged 16.9 MPG on a 150+ mile trip last weekend. There is less than 2000 miles on the car since it was put together. It has new tires and rims. Wipers are Newport electric. Has lots of other new parts such as shocks, suspension bushings, weather stripping and tinted side glass. Front doors have power windows. The windshield is a one piece unit but has a couple of cracks (note to self to check glass when UPS delivers it instead of a year later). The last picture shows the windshield crack. Paint is black base coat/clear coat. It's not show quality but the price on this car is less that the cost of show quality paint. But it is very respectable. Car does have a few chips but that's what happens when you drive a car.Bumpers are older one piece units and do have some surface rust that won't polish out. It also has a new Bob Drake 18 gallon fuel tank. For the interior, seats are leather out of a late model Cadillac. Gauges are new Dolphin antique white 5 1/4" 4 in one plus speedo. Headliner is new deluxe material also in black. It has a new nice retro look under dash heat/AC unit with Sanden style compressor and a parallel flow condenser. Has a respectable Sony sound system with CD player plus front USB and auxilary inputs. Door handles have been shaved and open using remote. This all I can think of right now but will add anything else as it come to mind. From the description it should be clear that I put this car together to be a keeper. But I came across a 1949 truck that I now have the hots for so this one has to go. Feel free to ask questions. I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere. Feel free to come look at it or arrange an inspection. Item is for sale localy so I reserve the right to end auction early until reserve is met. So bid early and bid to buy if you want it.On Mar-19-11 at 20:02:49 PDT, seller added the following information: Be sure to check out the videos at the above link. I added a second one tonight (3/19). Other new items not mentioned are new tail light bezels and all new lenses, it has new power window switches that use original hand cranks for the nostalgic look, The wiring is new using an EZWIRE 20 circuit harness harness. I've had several questions so I will answer them here at one time. What does it need: I never got around to buying and installing sill plates. They are about $75. The emergency brakes are not hooked up - the hand lever is there and the cable is there but they are not connected. It does not have a spare, jack or lug wrench. I was just going to go to a junk yard and get a space saver spare and a scissor jack since the car is so low but never got around to it. The front end needs to be aligned on a machine. It has been rough aligned using a manual gauge but no shop in my town has an alignment rack that you drive straight on. It is too low to get on an alignment rack that uses ramps. There is no tire wear at all in the roughly 1800 miles driven so far. Bidders with less than 5 feedbacks need to message me for obvious reasons. I reserve the right to block bids from low feedback bidders that fail to make contact. You would do the same. I can't help with arranging transportation but if winning bidder sets it up, I have no problem making the connection. Obviously any form of payment has to be clear before car is released. On Mar-24-11 at 10:28:32 PDT, seller added the following information: Potential bidders with questionable ebay history such as low feedback or non-payment for previous auctions should contact me prior to bidding. Feedback is the only indication I have of a bidders history. So I would rather cancel a bid and/or block the bidder than let an auction end with the possibility that the winner will not pay. This would not be fair to me or to serious bidders. With that said, if you have a history that could be considered questionable, contact me before you bid or I will block you and cancel your bid. Any responsible person won't have a problem with this.
