First id like to thank you for all the Interest in My Grabber! With 4,000 views and a lot of the same questions I will do my best to Answer them! PLEASE SCROLL DOWN TO VIEW ALL 90 PICTURES!! The Interior most defiantly doesn’t need Restored or reupholster....Please look very closely at the photos. All she needs is the passenger LOWER seat material fixed in NOS/OEM Material. Never been painted or touched up 100% Original Interior, Other than this it is near Mint condition, Carpet is faded and has some wear if you can live with that you can take it to car shows once passenger seat is fixed.... aftermarket carpet doesn’t fit and form as the original personally id leave it in. Go with a 302 NOS/OEM SWAP!! Hell yes I agree with a nice oem style v8 swap for this car...that was my plan. Also Engine bay needs cleaned with soap and water and a nice coat of wax!. NO rust in the Hood LIP!!, but sometime in the past it looks like a battery exploded under the hood! look at rust above the battery!! Battery box is still in good shape! Last but not least the driver door and fender need fixed and repainted!!!! the whole car doesn’t need painted the paint on this car is Gorgeous look very closely at one of the Passenger Pictures, you can see the Storage Unit Reflection thru the whole passenger side of the car. It’s buffed out beautifully.... it does have Rock chips in front est. Look at 4th picture down...its shows the Paint Quality. 1. PLEASE BE PATIENT AND READ THE WHOLE AD. Here is one the hardest decisions I have EVER had to make, selling my 2 owner Eldery owned California , Garaged, rust free 1971 Maverick Grabber Survivor With Build Sheet. Car still retains front and back license plate frames from the dealership. All Chalk Markings are present and visible. Due to Cystic Fibrosis Health is forcing me to sell this car it has NEVER been offered to the public. This car is considered in the Collector classic car market as a " Survivor" Meaning it has never been restored and retains its original paint and body panels ect. A survivor Grabber 71-72 are non existent in this condition, to find one takes years I know i am a Maverick/Comet Purist. This Car is a needle in a haystack and all the money in the world would do you no good ....if you can't find one. Ive seen 2 Survivors in the past 5 years on ebay, none of wich add up to this car having its Original Build Sheet and license plate frames from the Dealership. 2. DONT RESTORE THIS ONE! I am a firm believer that this car should never be restored & only NOS parts should be replaced as needed. IVE DONE RESTORATIONS BOUGHT RESTORATIONS, Ive done a full Restoration on another 71 Grabber in wich Ive owned for 15 years, i have around 17k in reciepts.... and as soon as I open my garage People flock to the Survivor simply because you can't beat a Survivor.... they are only original once and it's something you can't achieve with a restoration. As they say On Barrett Jackson they are only original Once. 2. Aftermarket Parts Aftermarket parts for these cars are made overseas and don't look and or fit as the original fomoco parts....I learned the hard way during a 5 year restoration on my other 71 Grabber. Not even the seat foams for the bucket seats have the same feel...i could go on forever. 3.NOW ABOUT THIS CAR.............. This car was ordered on 11-5-1970 Was built at the Kansas city plant on 11-27-1970 and sold at Burch Ford LA HABRA CALIFORNIA on 2-8-1971, was special ordered with Stunning Grabber Yellow paint , and very rare optional Black Deluxe Comfort weave bucket seats and Floor shifter..... only 10% of Mavericks were ordered with the optional automatic floor shift it is a very rare option for these cars. 4.BUILD SHEET I associate with hundreds of people on the internet MAVERICK COMET FORUMS, and NOBODY I know of have the Build Sheet to there 71-72 Grabbers this again is Extremly rare for this car and was a huge reason of not wanting to let it go. I challenge many to find another 71 Grabber on ebay with it's build sheet it just isnt gonna happen, as ive been a member of ebay for 10 years and have never seen another. THE BUILD SHEET WAS UNDER PASSENGER BUCKET SEAT IN THE SPRING...I HAVE A PHOTO IN MY ALBUM OF THE SHEET STILL ATTACHED IN THE SPRING THAT WILL GO WITH CAR.. 5.MARTI REPORT. Only 28 Grabbers with Grabber yellow/ black bucket seat/ floor shift with 200 6cylinder were ever made. MARTI SHOWS THIS GRABBER TO BE 1 OF 1 BECAUSE IT HAD THE NOX EMISSION SYSTEM. how many are left out f 28? 6.BODY AND PAINT. BEAUTIFUL SHINY PAINT ..... PICS DO NO JUSTICE .......98% RUST FREE Los Angeles Garaged and the cleanest under carriage of any Grabber i have owned. All the Chalk Markings are still clear. CHALK MARKINGS VISIBLE ON LEAF SPRINGS/ DRIVESHAFT ECT. .....You can see the drivers side needs work there is a Crease in front fender and some dents in the door. I wanted to have these fixed but couldnt paint any part of this car as in a Purist, I wanted the Grabber Yelllow to stay 100% original. this damage was done prior to me owning the car luckily i rescued this car from the old ladys grandson who let his friend back into the fender. 40 years of buffing has taken its toll there are burn marks through out this car on door seams and truck spoiler ...' im using a 2.5 megapixel camera and tried my best with pictures.... THIS CAR IS 40 YEARS OLD AND HAS ROCK CHIPS/SCRATCHES/DINGS IMPERFECTIONS .....it is not perfect. but paint is beautiful and shiny.... both doors seams paint is burnt down ect. ROCK CHIPS ON FRONT VALANCE/ FRONT OF THE HOOD....Blackout was repainted by previous owner on the hood and rear Panel... looks good from 10 ft...also painted the inside of snorkles black.... why??????? 7. INTERIOR If you wanna know what it felt like to sit in a Grabber in 1971 at the dealership this is about as close as your gonna get. No other 71-72 I have EVER SEEN in person or on the internet can live upto this cars interior... this maybe one of the cleanest 71-72 Black deluxe cars left in existence. There is very little sun fade everything is jet black.... everything is still soft and pliable even the horn works. Windows roll up and down with one finger. The Passenger side seat seam has seperated wich is very common....why the passenger seat??/ no idea!.. you can buy NOS material to fix it from a company ..who has left over ford material from the factory. front of steering wheel shows no cracks....around the back of the steering wheel cracks are visible. 8. Door Panels typical Maverick door panels like to wrinkle up... Feast your eyes on the deluxe door panels with virtually no wrinkling, Ive never seen a Door Panels In the Condition. FRANK SEVILLANO OWNS A 28K MILE GRABBER ... ISSUED IN HEMMINGS MAGAZINE....EVEN AT 28,000 ORIGINAL MILES HIS DOOR PANELS HAVE WRINKLES.....THIS GRABBER HAS THE BEST DOOR PANELS IN EXISTENCE. 9.ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION 200 6cyl runs great when the manual choke decides to work! when its warm it idles out smooth. Runs rough at first if choke doesnt work. Transmission leaks alotta fluid and ive never been under this car but to take underbody pictures, Im sure transmission needs a pan gasket. 10. A/C Beautiful dealership installed A/C underdash unit... everything is there and properly hooked up...NOT CURRENTLY WORKING. 11 ISSUES. THIS CAR HAS A TRANNY LEAK, A SCRAPING NOISE FROM A REAR BRAKE PAD I BELIEVE, AND A/C DOESNT WORK, THESE ARE THE ONLY KNOWN ISSUES CAR DRIVES AND RUNS LIKE A DREAM...".REMEMBER IT IS 40 YEARS OLD AND THERE ARE CHIPS/DINGS/ PAINT TOUCHUPS, AND NORMAL WEAR ON THIS CAR I BELIEVE THE MILEAGE IS 133,00 NO WARRANTIES PLEASE LOOK CLOSELY AT PHOTOS AND QUESTIONS PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS..... ************************** REMEMBER I USED A 2.5 MEGAPIXEL CAMERA THIS CARS PAINT SHINE AND INTERIOR COLOR ARE MUCH BETTER IN PERSON I RECOMMEND ANYBODY TO SEE THE CAR IN PERSON********** I HAVE LOTS MORE PHOTOS EBAY ONLY ALLOWS UP TO 24 PICTURES ORIGINAL TRIANGLE BEAM HEADLAMPS/HEADLIGHTS ARE STILL IN THE CAR AS WELL FROM FACTORY Please note brightness of flash lightens up the Interior... Interior is JETT BLACK in MINT CONDITION with the exception of passenger seat EVERYTHING IN THE INTERIOR IS STILL VERY SOFT AND PLIABLE. DASH/HORN PAD ECT.
