1976 BMW R60/6 CLEAN MACHINE! BMW 1976 R60/6 ******************************** Up for bid is this nice 76 R60/6, I recently picked this bike up from the original owner who purchased in new in 1976. The bike never sat outside in the weather and was always stored indoors. When I got it it had been sitting for years. Bike was brought back to life by a local friend who is a BMW mechanic. Carbs cleaned, all fluids changed, cables lubed, brakes..the front drum on this bike really surprised me after riding the bike. I had always heard that these drum brakes (if adjusted correctly) would stop you quicker that a single disc brake front wheel and it is definitly true...brakes work great. Original paint on tank looks great, fenders look good also, but do have a few chips here and there. All the chrome looks great, small amount of corrosion on a few spokes, should clean up nice. I installed a sealed battery, new Bosch plugs, NGK plug wires, a set of aftermarket mufflers that were only a couple of years old. The bike had some aftermarket FOX shocks on it, which I removed and put on a set of really nice /7 shocks. If your looking for a nice MPG commuter for the great weather ahead this bike will "fit the bill". Motor Compression is top notch and the same on both sides. Mileage is low 28,000, Bike runs, idles and shifts the way a good Beemer should. All lights, signals and horn work. Gauges look great! I forgot to put on the side covers when pictures were taken, I always thought these bikes looked better without them,..but thats just me.
