Vehicle Detail
This car runs and drives but needs some work. It is a good car with great potential. I bought this car to convert over to run on waste vegetable oil, and for my fiance to have as a daily driver. She does not like it though, so I may as well not put any money into it if she won't drive it. I have tinkered around with a few things and to the best of my knowledge here is a little about the car, starting with what needs to be fixed: brakes: needs new rotors and pads (4 wheel disk brakes) tires: 3 have decent tread and one is almost bald, however they are all dryrotted with deep cracks. (all hold air though) charging system: I don't know if the alternator is bad or if it's something else like the voltage regulator, but it will not charge the battery when running. It was working fine when I got the car, and on the way home something went out. It could just be a fuse, I don't know though. body: the paint is faded and chipped and has small amounts of surface rust. I've only found deep rust on the sides of the bottom of the trunk (does that make sense?). All doors, trunk, hood, function normally with the exception of the vacuum locks, Mercedes has a very strange setup with a vacuum actuated lock system for popping the trunk lid and locking/unlocking the doors. I don't know how to use it and I don't know if it even works. I just use the key to unlock the doors and trunk. Glass: all the glass is in good shape, the windshield has a very small chip in the center. I don't know if it's been sealed or not. It looks like the original windshield. Misc: Hubcaps are all there and look to be in great shape and match. All the lights seem to work (kinda hard to find all the "hidden" switches on a mercedes) Interior: decent shape, dash has to big cracks in it from sun dammage. Seats are all good, drivers seat has some wear creases and cracks but nothing major. The carpet is worn through in some spots. Missing some pannels under the dash but there are some pannels in the trunk (I don't know if they are the right ones or not) The engine runs very well, does not overheat. Has great oil pressure and no blow by. Not a powerful engine, the specs I found online said that from the factory it only put out 87HP, but from what I've read, it's a very reliable engine. The transmision is automatic, and shifts somewhat hard. I've been reading some forums online and apparently thats a normal occurance for these cars. I've tried to represent the car the best I can, and have not tried to missrepresent anything. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. You can pick the car up locally (Forks, WA), I will not deliver. If you want it shipped you will have to setup EVERYTHING for shipment. I accept paypal, money order, and cash. Payment to be recieved within 10 days from end of auction. I have this car for sale locally as well so I reserve the right to end the auction early. thanks and happy bidding
