It was sold by Jim Slemons Imports of Newport on March 29th, 1983. The original window sticker shows a price of over $44k new. The original owner the sold the vehicle in the early 90's to the second owner who took it to Branson, MO. The car is finished in its gorgeous original Mercedes color of Astral Silver Metallic and is in awesome condition and looks as good as the day in rolled of the lot. The body is straight as an arrow. The paint is all original and in in excellent condition. The dealer added custom pinstripe really sets the car apart from other silver SL's. The car has been inspected all around and is rust free. The car is riding on the 15" chrome 560sl wheels with new Falken tires that have only a thousand miles on them! The windshield is like new with no chips. The black German Cloth soft top is in like new condition with no rips or tear. The hard top has good seals and the headliner is in great shape. The interior is in great shape all around. The supple original black leather seats are all in very good condition and look very nice with no rips, which shows the quality of leather used in this car. The wood grain is in excellent condition. The carpets are all very nice are not worn or damaged. The dash and door panels are in like new condition with no cracks. There is a power cord for a dash mounted radar dectector which will be included with the car. All dials and controls function as they should, power windows and antenna also are fully functional. All lights, gauges switches, and accessories work as they should. This interior is in immaculate condition. The trunk compartment is very clean as well. The spare tire compartment is clean as a whistle and the original spare tire is present. Original jack and tool kit are also in place. MECHANICAL: Mechanically, this SL runs GREAT! The car starts right up and and the engine runs strong. The V8 engine is quick and responsive. The transmission shifts nice and smooth. It drives as good now as the day it rolled of the lot. It is reliable, easy to fix, and parts are readily available. Under the hood is clean as a whistle and looks like new. This 380 was definitely always well taken care of mechanically. It just had LOTS of recent maintenance in November of 2010.
