1964 Galaxie 500 Hardtop What I've got for auction is a super, mostly original 1964 Galaxie 500 with a 390-300hp. This car is red and white with a red interior that is super. The dash pad is practically mint, the seats,headliner and carpet are unreal for the age of this car. The car has 82,545. miles on it and I truly believe it. There is a oil change sticker on the doorjamb that says 74,800 in 3-13-82. This car has had to be garaged kept for the interior not be sunburned like these cars would do from setting outside for long periods of time. This car is a Z code, meaning 390-300hp from the factory. It has as manual transmission, 4 speed with bench seat. Everything works except the clock. It runs and drives nice, has a good sounding dual exhaust with magnaflow stainless tips. The glass is nice, all windows roll up and down as they should. The body on this Galaxie is real solid, there is a spot on the bottom of the right fender that has some rust thru. I believe the paint is probably 20 years old, has some chips and small scraps from probably an elderly owner. And could be mostly original with some spots repaired from small mishaps. Anyway it is a 10 footer, looks good for cruise-ins and not ashamed in any manner to drive and enjoy. The aluminum trim is bright with a few dings, but appears to be all original. The floors and trunk are solid along with the door bottoms. The car always gets positive comments when driven to cruise's. The engine compartment is detailed and ready to go. It has new water pump, generator rebuilt, thermostat,hose's and belts . It is running 16" Polished American Eagle wheels and Goodyear tires. It has power steering and manual brakes that will stop you. It runs cool never overheats in any traffic. I have driven it on 100 mile trips without a problem. Always starts hot or cold.
