1980 300 SD, the last year of this body style. Has the inline 5 cylinder diesel that is one of the best engines Mercedes ever made. Has been my daily driver for the last 3 years but I just got a 1986 SDL and can't keep both cars. I only have a 2 mile commute so I only put on about 10k miles since I got it. Has the original paint which looks good but has some discoloration on the roof, trunk lid and hood. Never been in an accident, no rust at all. The only dents are very minor and on the driver's side. One small dent on the front fender near the turn signal and a couple on the rear fender wheel arch just behind the rear door. All doors, hood and trunk lid open and close just like they should, all locks work and use the same key as the ignition. I have two original keys. Engine runs strong and has no problem getting up to freeway speeds. I have never had it over 75 MPH but it will go faster if you want. Before I got it the injection pump had just been rebuilt, fuel filters and return lines were replaced 2 months ago along with oil and oil filter. Engine starts up on the first try even in cold weather and sounds great. Belts and hoses are in good shape. Some oil on the bottom of the engine but no drips on the ground. I have driven it longer distances and runs cool, radiator and fan are in good condition. Transmission shifts well, has a minor leak. I see a few drops on the ground sometimes, but the level on the stick has been good since I have had it. Brakes work and stop straight. The Front Calipers were rebuilt last year and new front hoses were also installed. I have seen no leaks in the braking system. Suspension is tight and takes bumps with ease, steering is good, no loose parts. All the lights work, as well as all of the electrical system. The stereo is not great but does work. All gauges work except for the odometer which stopped working about two years ago. It says 266,000 and I have but about 7k on it since. Speedometer works great, horn, wipers, windows, door locks, heater and defrost all work well. I just installed new OEM front window switches(they control all four door windows and the lock out for the rear switches). They cost over $100 for the two switches. I was impressed that Mercedes still makes parts for this car. The rear window switches are still working. Interior looks good and is all original. No tears in the seats or headliner. Front seats work well and are comfortable. Rear seat is loosing it padding, it's easy to remove and can be re-stuffed. Dash top does have a couple of cracks. You can see them in the picture.
