Vehicle Detail
Selling my 1965 Chevrolet C-10 Pickup truck. I have put on about 1400 miles the last 2 months and it runs/rides like a champ, with no issues. It is a late 1965 production built in Atlanta, with the 250, straight 6 and a very rare combo with the 2 speed powerglide which functions perfectly. It has spent its life in Orlando on a citrus farm on the east side of town. I do love that it has the big back window option, which makes a difference in seeing around the cab in traffic. It has new exhaust from the manifold back. I have recently replaced the fuel sending unit--the gas gauge works correctly (I replaced it because the fuel gauge was not working). A new fuel pump and new NAPA battery as the other one was testing weak. I replaced the heater core, so the heater functions 100% with only an occasional squeak from the blower between speeds. I do have an aftermarket oil gauge hooked up and the speedo/odometer work as they should. All lights work properly except for the cancel on the signal lights, you have to do that yourself. The inside of the cab is outstanding, but the seat is weak on both the passenger and drivers side where you slide in and out(springs are soft) and the seat will need to be recovered in the next few years. It has a push button old school starter. Both vent windows are not operational and the passenger side window does not roll up or down---I have not looked to see why, however it is easy to pop the panel off and if anything is needed, new parts are cheap and easy to install. All glass was out of the truck for paint with new rubber gaskets to windows and doors. That is when the side trim went missing--a new complete set is $359 including all the clips, and each clip hole is easily accessible on both sides, so installation would be about 2 hours. The wood in the bed is about 3 years old and in great condition. The brakes work perfectly (4 drums) with only 25% wear and 4 new Firestone whitewalls(about 600miles on the tires). It runs down the highway smooth with no shakes or vibrations. Steering is factory tight, and has new Pitman arm and tie rod end. I had Firestone check out the brakes and front end---with no repairs needed. Parking brake works perfect. The engine starts with first turn and runs great(like the old singer sewing machine)and is quite fuel efficient. It does have the tiniest oil leak from the pan gasket where the starter hides the pan bolts, about a drop a day, no more. I pulled all the plugs and they were perfect x's 6 and put on a new rotor and cap. All hoses/belts are new and the radiator is 3 years old.It has one small patch, about 3inches x 7 inches to the drivers side floor board---it looks like a very old patch, as the body is in incredible shape. The paint is great and about 7 years old. I see two 1 cm bubbles on the front lip of the hood and some on the dog leg of the fenders, but nothing that has come thru and does not take away from the trucks condition. The only trucks like this that I have seen in better condition, are the ones just off the restoration rack. The best thing about this truck is the ability to jump in it and drive. I use it daily and my wife and I use it for dates/occasions. She says she has never known a vehicle that brings such good will, either thumbs up or just the appreciation to see it on the road.I would love to get the $13,500 out of it that I have in it. The reserve is lower then I can barely stand. Call me if you want more info Terry 407-644-9327 or send me your # if you would rather me pay for the call. Don't spend $35k on a new truck, drive this one! or 10k and your vehicle?Pictures were taken the 2nd week of January 2011
