1964 Ford Fairlane 500 Sports Coupe with a 289 High Performance engine with a 4-speed transmission. The friend that I am selling this car for thought that the engine number did not match the car number. I know very little about fords, but I will give you the numbers that I found and you can decide. I took pictures of alot of areas on the car and will say the car has surface rust on the underside carrage. There are patch panels welded in the drivers floor, and behind the driver in the backseat. It has a small hole on the passenger side floor and pinholes in 2 areas in the trunk. The rear quarter on the passengers side has some pinholes in it as well. If you look at the pictures you will be able to see the areas that I am talking about. The car runs really strong and has a nice " Lopey " idle and the exhaust sounds good. It has vintage American Racing wheels and the car is in very nice shape. It has new carpet, new radiator, new exhaust, new Shelby shift knob and newly upholsterd seats. It had a factory tach on the dash that was stolen. The headliner needs replaced and the door panels are warped. The car has been repainted once the original yellow and has chips and scratches that have been touched up. The chrome has fine spider webbing and some pitting. Overall it is a very nice looking and running old muscle car. I was recently told that is K code car, ok like I said don't know Fords. You can decide and let me know. The rear end tapers down from 3" to 2.81 from the just inside the spring perch to the backing plate. Thank-You to all who have provided information about this car.
