Vehicle Detail

1979 Camaro Pro Touring First off these pictures were taken on 1-30-2011. I purchased this camaro on Dec 6th 2010 in Ocala ,Fl. as a project car that somebody couldn't finish. On my way back home I stopped at National Parts Depo and purchased over $2500 in parts but not all the parts I needed. Just a fraction of what was spent. Since then I have pretty much rebuilt the whole car. I wanted to build a pro touring style car within a certain budget. Not everyone can afford a $20,000 or $50,000 car. When I bought the camaro I took it back to my shop and dismantled it down to a rolling body. We then pressured washed the whole car. The engine ( very nicely built 350) was rebuilt by the previous owner using 30 over forged piston, lunati cam, torquelink manifold, holley carb etc. The motor has less than 500 miles on it. So we just cleaned it up and painted the block and intake. (didn't like the blue they used). I bought new valve covers, air cleaner and breathers. I also installed a new water pump, power steering pump, alternator and belts. The holley carb was rebuilt and new headers and a complete exhaust system were installed. All new plugs ,wires, cap and rotor. Next we painted the front subframe, core support and wheel wells satin black. New core support mounts were installed then a new radiator and dual fan setup went in with all new hose and clamps. We installed all new shocks front and rear, new brakes front and rear ( calipers, rotors, pads, bearings, shoes, drums, wheel cylinders, hardware kit). The rear was lowered 2 inches along with all new leaf spring bushings and pads. NOTE: After driving the camaro to the chevy winternationals in orlando fl. I have removed the 2 inch lowering blocks from the rear. The pictures in the park are more recent than the pictures by the water. The front was lowered 1.5 inches using eibach springs. The transmission is a built th350 with a 3500 stall converter. The rear is a 10 bolt with very friendly highway gears. Next we turned our attention to the body. It was straight already so I sanded the body down and sprayed 3 coats of high build primer. We blocked the whole car twice and did a couple of body mods. The lower front fender side marker lights have been shaved and filled. Also the rear bumper has been molded to the body. A 1970 Z28 short rear spoiler replaces the tall factory one. The drip rails were also removed. The front windshield was replaced. The front factory bumper was in shambles so I replaced it with a new fiberglass piece. I then painted the camaro 08 mercedes silver and pearl white with a red dividing line, after which I sprayed 5 coats of high solids clear. It was then wet sanded to a glass finish. The grille, headlight and turn signals bezels were painted gloss black. New turn signal lenses were added. New outside door handle and new cowl screen also installed. The rear spoiler is wrapped in carbon fiber. A six inch pin on cowl hood rounds out the body mods. I also purchased brand new front and rear windshield moldings, but they are so cheaply made I installed the originals instead. The trunk was painted and new carpet added. Next we reassembled the car with all new interior (factory style) from carpet to headliner, dash cover to package tray. All the plastic was painted also. New door panels and window handles were added too. All new weather stripping, window felts were also added. Next we installed Beyern (BMW 7 SERIES) rims with new tires. 20 x 10 rear and 19 x 8.5 front. I have some extra parts that go with the car. New front windshield molding, rear taillight filler gaskets etc. I need to find better or new rear taillights before I install the filler gaskets. I have set the reserve low for this camaro. So please don't ask me what it is. I drove the camaro on it's maiden trip to take these pictures, about 60 miles round trip. The car ran flawlessly. Since then I have been driving it almost everyday without any problems. Please ask question if you have any. Thanks Tom 727-638-4737On Mar-02-11 at 08:17:18 PST, seller added the following information: NOTE: I have been asked why I am selling the car when I just finished it. I built this car to go to cruise in's and shows with, not to sell. But I am starting another business along with the 2 I have now( auto restoration & chrome) so that is why I am selling. I have over $12,000 in the car since I bought it in Dec 2010. My reserve is MUCH lower and you couldn't build it for what I am asking. Thank Tom
