I am selling a factory original 1956 Ford C500 Cabover Dump truck. This truck is being sold in "As Is" condition, and in need of restoration. I purchased this truck in Iowa, and drove it 175 miles back to my house. The truck has the original 292 motor that runs well, and does not smoke. The carburetor needs to be rebuilt. You have to feather the throttle at take off, but past that, it is fine. The motor does leak oil after sitting for a while. If you are going to restore this truck, I would recommend rebuilding the motor due to the lack of power. The tranny shifts fine. It is the original 4 speed on the floor with the overdrive button on the stick shift. The brakes work well, and the emergency brake is functional but not the best. The suspension is original with no broken springs. All of the lights work. I drove it for 5 hours, with no issues. The exterior of the truck is nice. The cab is nice with no rust in the cab corners, and rear panel. The only issues in the cab that I have found, is some pin holes in the driver side floor board, and a small area in the left side rocker panel. All of the problem area are pictured. The frame is solid, and the box has areas of repair, but nothing serious. The running boards are the worst areas, needing to be replaced, or patched. The front gravel pan has some small rust holes on the left side, but it does not need to be replaced. The front bumper is straight and in nice condition. The roof of the cab has some shallow dents, but nothing that has damaged the support brace on the inside of the cab. I consider the cab, to be in great condion. The windshield is nice, but the side glass, wing windows, and back glass are cracked. The front fenders are nice, with some very small pin holes on the eye brow of the right side right above the head light. The doors are nice with no rust. The grille, and hood are also in nice condition. The interior of the cab is original minus a cup holder and cell phone holder that was drilled into the dash, a tape deck stereo that hangs underneath the dash, and speakers that hang from the roof of the cab. The seat is in nice shape with no rips or tears. The heater blows hot, and does not leak. Lights, blinkers, stereo, and wipers all work. This truck has tremendous potential for restoration, and would make a really cool stock original, or modified car hauler. Please call my cell with any questions (402)650-6155. Please no scams.
