This 1989 Chevrolet C1500 is a solid example of one of the most reliable trucks ever built by GM. This Cheyenne 1500 is simplicity at its best, with all the basic equipment, and a trustworthy 4.3 Liter V6 and a reliable manual transmission. This truck starts right up, and runs smoothly. No knocks, pings or smoke. Clutch holds well and does not slip. Brakes stop vehicle properly. I purchased this truck with the intentions of using it for work and for moving car parts around while restoring a project car. However, plans changed and I've purchased a convertible for summer, so this truck must go! Since my purchase, I have replaced various items and have done maintenance to ensure its reliability. As you can see, it will need some TLC, but is VERY solid and an easy fix or restore, but can be put to work as is! Small scrape with surface rust, needs attention. Rock Solid Cab Corners! No rust! New Ignition Switch All glass is in good shape! Current spray paint job on roof and hood could be easily remedied. No bodywork underneath, just original paint. New Brake Reservoir Diaphragm and Cap Recently Rebuilt Alternator New Battery! Great tires all around! Recent inspection! I have done my best to accurately show the current condition of this truck. This solid truck is an excellent candidate to receive some well-deserved cosmetic attention. The truck's oil psi gauge is currently reading zero, but a mechanic has verified that the sensor ($30 from Advance auto) for the readout would need to be replaced for the readout to be correct. The parking brake release handle is new, but the emergency brake cable could stand to be replaced as it is stretched, but still holds the truck just fine. Driver's door could use a new pin/bushing as it sags 1/4 inch, but the door still can close fully. The glove box door hinge and latch are picky, therefore it looks askew in the photos. Overall, the truck has been reliable and I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. However, please understand this vehicle is sold AS-IS. The truck is not new, and I have done my best to show its various imperfections. This Chevrolet is a great vehicle with a lot of life left and a great value for the money. If the bidding reaches $1350.00, I will include the Sony Xplod CD player with the truck. There will be extra center caps (3) included with the sale of the truck, along with the original radio.
