Vehicle Detail
This car is for someone who will finish restoring it. It is not running. I have the body seperated from the frame. I bought it 1 year ago. It was driven until 2000 and was parked for 10 years until I bought it. I have decided not to continue restoring it. The body and interior are in excellent condition with very minor damage. I reskinned the dash, knee pads and binnacle. The drivers seat was also re done. The engine is in great shape as well as the transmission. The frame has rust issues that will need to be fixed. The top of the frame is in great shape but underneath will need reparing. The cars wiring will need to be gone through as well. I can bolt the body back onto the frame for transport. The fuel distributor was rebuilt and still in the bag. New fuel pump from DMC. Tires hold air. This car is a great restoration project when finished could easily be worth well over $20,000On Feb-26-11 at 14:43:31 PST, seller added the following information: This car is for someone who will finish restoring it. The auction is down to around one day so I decided to add some things. In changing the oil and filter I ordered the male socket needed to remove the oil pan drain plug. Also I have the original owners manual in perfect condition with the leather case. I built a custom 2x4 wood frame to set above the engine so you can safely let off the torsion bar tension to remove. I also have everything for the interior console and shifting assembly. I lowered the body back onto the frame and have reattached 8 of the 10 frame bolts for shipping. The brake lines are unhooked but I did reattach the steering linkage so you can at least steer the car. I put all the extra parts, bolts, etc in 2 boxes and placed them on the passenger side floor. Other extra items are in the luggage space up front. I also reattached the rear bumper and placed the bumper guard inside. Everything you need for a complete De Lorean is here cheersOn Feb-27-11 at 01:28:49 PST, seller added the following information: I want to make sure everyone bidding on this car has as many facts concerning this car as possible. For this reason I wanted to add the following... The following items will need complete restoration..the ceiling, A/C, (allthough the pump is there and not froze up.) The fuel tank assembly as well as the brakes. The passenger side window motor will also need replacing. I also wanted to add we had the car running shortly just to make sure it would. If you have any final questions please email me today and I will get back to you asap. cheers
