1965 GALAXIE 500 XL FASTBACK WITH CENTER CONSOLE AND BUCKET SEATS THIS CLASSIC STARTS, RUNS, SHIFTS AND DRIVES AS IT SHOULD. IT PRESENTS EXTREMELY WELL AND HAS A BEAUTIFUL DEEP SHINE. THERE HAS BEEN ONE REPAINT TO A PERFECTLY MATCHED ORIGINAL DARK IVY GREEN METALIC. THERE ARE NO BUFFING MARKS OR SCRATCHES ON THE GLASS, STAINLESS TRIM, ROCKER PANEL TRIM, BRIGHT WORK AND BADGES, ALL OF WHICH ARE DAMAGE FREE AND EXCEPTIONALLY NICE AND ALL THERE. THE 1965 BODY STYLE IS UNIQUE BECAUSE IT DOESN’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“READY TO SHOW” FINISH.
