Vehicle Detail

Introduction: Up for auction is the last of a true breed. The early 1974 MG MKIII Midget was the last of the chrome bumper MG's. In late 1974 the MG transitioned over to the less desirable urethane bumper. This car has spent its life in California, Texas, and Mississippi where it has been stored indoors and kept incredibly well. This car underwent a complete restoration in 1998 and still to this day looks and drives fabulous. Let's spend some time walking around this tiny little sports car and take a closer look. Restoration: Here are the detailed items that have been restored. I have tons of receipts showing the work that has been done to this car. 1998: (Excess of over $6,000 spent) Complete Engine Overhaul Paint and Body work done New Electrical Wiring Harness New Upholstery New Tires (still look new to this day) 2004: (Excess of over $1,200 spent) New Transmission 2005-2006: (Excess of over $5,300 spent) New Clutch, Pressure Plate, Throw-out Bearing, Bushings, Slave Cylinder) New Belts New Halogen Headlights New Ignition Coil New Points & Plugs New Fuse System New Oil Pressure Relief Valve New Speedometer Cable Refurbish SU Carburetors New Fuel Gauge Sending Unit New Top Cover Exterior: Cascading over all of the classic MG lines is an arctic Glacier White finish. The paint and body are in excellent condition with NO RUST! There are a few miscellaneous chips and a small scrape under the rear bumper. All of the chips and scrapes have been touched up and are nearly undetectable. The chrome is in good shape and still has a very lustrous shine but it is starting to haze on the bumpers a bit. Again really undetectable unless you are right up on it. All of the original Triplex glass is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. This car comes with the convertible soft top, a tonneau cover, the soft top parade boot cover, and a very nice overall car cover for storing it safely. The soft top has a small separation on the seam just above the drivers window (See Pic) Interior: Open either door and step into a vintage European racer inspired interior. The interior is in excellent condition with no rips, tears, or stains on any of the door panels, seats, dash, carpeting, etc etc. Everything on the interior works including all of the gauges, heater and blower, radio, interior light, on and on and on. Even the trunk courtesy light still functions like new. Car comes with the original spare tire as well as the original jack and lug wrench in the original storage pouch. Mechanical: Bump the key and bring to life the 1275cc MKIII 4 cylinder. This car runs extremely well and is an absolute blast to drive. The brakes are firm and accurate, the transmission shifts into every gear with the flick of your wrist. Clutch is tight and does not shutter and shake. The floors, trunk, and frame rails are completely rust free and incredibly solid. Details: Thank you for taking the time to walk around this very well preserved 1974 MG Midget . If you have any questions or feel I have left something out, please don't hesitate to shoot me an email or call, (502) 316-4857. Buyer is responsible for a $500 deposit within 48 hours of auction completion and the balance is due within seven days of auction's end. I reserve the right to hold the vehicle and vehicle's title until all checks clear my bank as advised by my bank. Buyer is responsible for shipping charges.
