You are bidding on a very nice 1974 Pontiac Trans Am 455 Super Duty. This is a non-smoker car with no damage history. This car is one of 943 Super Dutys that were produced. This Trans Am was purchased from the actress Christina Ricci (appearing in Monster, 200 Cigarettes, Casper) in May 2004 with the odometer showing 6,000 miles. This was her personal daily driver for 16 months. At 106,000 miles it was in surprisingly good condition. All 6 owners have been contacted recently except the original and the 4th. The second owner is a retired doctor in Sarasota, Florida and is over 80 years old and still involved in cars. The car is on its third paint job and second engine rebuild. All date codes and part numbers match except where you might expect such as belts, batter ect. This Trans Am is documented from the Pontiac Historical Society (PHS) and is listed in the 1973/1974 SD 455 Registry. PHS lists the following options in addition to the LS2 455 SD backed by a Turbo 400 and 3:42 Positrack: Stereo 8 Track Tape (functioning), Roof Molding, Door Edge Guards, Front and Rear Floor Mats, Lamp Group, Radio-AM, Front Console, Hood Decal, A/C, GR 70- X 15 White Letter Steel Belted Radials, Window Sill, & Hood Rear Edge Moldings. The Honey Combs are not original and the Bird on the hood was left off during the last paint job.The car began its life on January 15, 1974 and was delivered to Leach Pantiac-GMC in Montevallo, Alabama. Trans Am production numbers were up from 1971 of 2,116. In 1974 Trans Am production totaled 10,255 of which only 943 were LS 2 - 455 Super Duty. This car is in very nice original condition, not frame off restored, but very nice condition. Everything works with the exception of the 8-track tape player. This car did not come with power windows, tilt wheel or power trunk release, these were added later. The paint is very presentable with just a few chips here and there. The body is very straight. The interior is nice, no rips, tears or wear spots. The dash and door panels are very nice as is the headliner. The original jack and spare are intact. The undercarriage is really nice with no rust, no undercoating and there are no leaks at all. The original exhaust manifolds were replaced with new ceramic ones and I do have the originals. I have a folder with lots of invoices, copy of the title from Christina Ricci, PHS documents and reproduction window sticker. The tires are brand new and it drives very well.
