Vehicle Detail
I want it, I want it, I want it.... win this auction and you CAN have it baby! This CLASSIC magic short bus, built by Superior Coaches in 1958, until recently belonged to a well known mountain man who passed away. Superior coaches mostly made hearses. This rare body is more stream-lined and classy than the other boxier '58's. It has a 1970 390 V8 and a 4 speed manual transmission. 4 bbl., rear duallies. The heaters work. I drove it over Monarch Pass a month ago. The clutch seems weak in first gear and I had to bleed the brakes before starting out, but the bus runs smooth and I never had to downshift on the up-slope. Monarch is a tough pass, too. It cooked over that big mountain at 55 and never got hot. The bus has dents on the roof that need paint and putty. There is the typical rust, dents, scratches and flaws that come with a vehicle this old. The speedometer is missing... However, it has many other working gauges, some after-market. It has a decent CB radio that isn't hooked up. One or two small lights need bulbs. In the 1960's this bus was converted to an RV. I have stripped out everything except the original interior and a 3 burner propane stove and gas furnace, and some of the steel overhead storage shelves. Needs cleaning. Needs a ford ignition switch, starts with a screwdriver. Has multiple cracked windows that need repair/replacement. Needs overall TLC and restoration, but is still a functioning vehicle. Throw out bearing sounds a little dry at idle, but I've heard worse. Has a trailer hitch on the back, and a bicycle rack on the front. Left rear bumper is dented, but serviceable. I charged up the battery and it starts right up first try . Local pickup only, and I accept PayPal. Sold as-is, where-is with no warranty. Drive it onto a trailer, tow it, or drive it away. Once you pay that is your choice. MUST BE PICKED UP I WILL NOT SHIP OR DELIVER. This bus sat for 2 years before I got it, so it could use full fluid changes and a tune-up. I was surprised how well the bus runs. Starts right up with a little starting fluid and you have to give it a little gas to warm it up.... I think the choke is disconnected. No smoke and the engine sounds fine. With some work this could be the ULTIMATE classic RV that will really turn heads. It is titled as a van, and I have it insured through Progressive. $112 a YEAR for full-time RV insurance. Qualifies for classic plates. Really an awesome deal right here, and I hope someone who loves shorty bus conversions gets it and enhances everything that is special about this wonderful old vehicle. MUST BE PAID IN FULL WITHIN 5 DAYS OF AUCTION CLOSING AND REMOVED FROM PROPERTY WITHIN 14 DAYS OF PAYMENT. (I will help you get her started and drive her out onto the road for you if you want.) IF YOU WANT THIS BUS, BID NOW. NO RESERVE, HIGH BID TAKES IT. I SAID LAST TIME I WOULDN'T RE-LIST, BUT THE BUYER FLAKED. I JUST RAN THE BUS THIS MORNING. STARTS RIGHT UP AND PURRS. I AM RAISING THE START PRICE. THIS TIME, IF IT DOESN'T SELL I WILL KEEP IT. THE ENGINE IS WORTH THE FIRST BID. IF YOU WIN IT FOR THAT YOU GET THE WHOLE SHEBANG. ONE LAST CHANCE.I AM ONLY SELLING BECAUSE: 1) WE JUST BOUGHT LAND AND ARE BUILDING A HOUSE. 2) WE CAN USE THE MONEY, AND RIGHT NOW THE BUS IS JUST SITTING. 3) EBAY INSERTION FEES ARE FREE THIS WEEK.
