I am offering for sale my Body Off Restored 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible NUMBERS MATCHING (Original California Car) that comes with both the soft and hard tops. This is one of the most popular color combinations with Nassau blue exterior and white interior. This is a high-end restoration that was done a few years ago by the previous owner and has been driven very sparingly by me. I have a clear title in hand. Exterior and Body (Code FF) The car was painted in its original color of Nassau Blue using DuPont Lacquer paint. The paint has a high shine similar to the paints used in the sixties. The passenger side front fender has a slight blemish that will not show up in a photo and can barely be seen with the eye. There are very small stress cracks at the outside corners of the headlight buckets. The body panels all appear to be original with the bonding seems in tact. All of the gaps are even at the doors, hood, rear deck and headlights. The chrome and stainless shines brilliantly. The soft top is in good condition and mounted to the original un-restored frame. The hard top is original to the car and in good condition with some very faint scratches. The rubber over the windshield is missing but I will furnish with the car. The wheels and tires on the car were purchased 5 months ago. The wheels are bolt on knock offs, the latest design with the proper fin width and lip size. The tires are firestone gold line radials. I do not have a dedicated spare tire or wheel to go with the car. Interior (Code 450B) The car has brilliant blue carpet that looks like new. The seats originally were white vinyl but were replaced with white leather and compliment the white door panels. The dash is original to the car and has no rips or cracks. The gauges, clock and radio all work. The title on the car shows 43549 miles. The speedometer was recently taken out of the car and worked on due to noise and now shows 42468 miles. The car has the ever-popular telescopic steering column. The jack and handle are stored behind the drivers seat. Mechanical and Frame The previous owner took off the body and I do not have any pictures of the restoration process. The numbers matching frame was painted as they were when built, then the entire rolling chassis was rebuilt as can be seen from the pictures. Most of the factory markings are on the frame. The engine, transmission and rear end were rebuilt. The brakes were all replaced with stainless steel sleeves and the car stops straight with no pulling in either direction. Originality/Numbers Matching · Engine 327/365 horse power. Serial number 5108319, Suffix FOII2HH, Casting 3782870. Heads 3782461. Intake Manifold 3844461. Exhaust Manifolds 3846563(L). 3797902(R). Holley Carburetor R2818 Part# 3849804. The 6-quart oil pan is original. · Transmission M20 4 speed. Date code Po126 and the VIN# stamped on the side of the casing matches the cars. · Rear Axle. 370 gearing and dated 1/19/65. · Glass is 46 years old and all original to the car. · Radiator 3155316 stamped 65A. · Overflow tank date code 65A. As you can see this is a very original unmolested car. Now for all of the documentation and extras that will come with the car. · The Original Dealer Invoice with the Original Purchaser’s Signature showing delivery on April 21,1965 from Lew Williams Chevrolet in Sacramento. The purchaser lived in Modesto, California. · Original Build Sheet showing all the options. · The Original Protect-O-Plate showing some of the maintenance records and dealer representative signatures. · 1965 Corvette Owners Guide with plastic bag. · Operating instructions for the Am-Fm radio. · 1965 Corvette NCRS judging manual. · (4) Original Kelsey Hayes steel wheels 5 ½” x 15” with (4) BF Goodrich Silvertown gold line bias ply tires that have never seen the pavement with the Original hubcaps and new spinners. · Car cover included. · I will include a quart of the Nassau Blue paint with the car · 1965 corvette assembly manual. · 1965 corvette sales brochures. · 2 sets of keys Keep in mind this is an old car and from lack of being driven leaks develop. I have not driven the car for 2 months and have a quarter size drip on my garage floor from the transmission. The engine does not smoke and starts right up even after sitting for extended periods of time. This is a high horse power solid lifter motor and sounds like it so don’t expect something that sounds like a new car. I would encourage you to inspect the car before you place a bid or have someone inspect it for you. I have a lift available for inspections. I have described the car as honestly as I can. If having the car shipped that is the buyers sole responsibility. I will assist the shipper during normal business hours between 8am and 6pm. I will require a $500.00 non-refundable deposit within 24 hours of the winning bid and the remainder due in 7 business days. Contact me within 24 hours to discuss payment arrangements. Payment will be either by bank certified cashiers check or wire transfer. No cash will be accepted. After my bank clears the payment the car will be released.
