THIS IS A PROJECT THAT I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON FOR SOME TIME NOW AND HAVE DECIDED TO MOVE ON TO A BOAT PROJECT. SOMEONE CAN GET THIS CAR AND EITHER COMPLETE THE RATROD BUILD OR RESTORE CLOSER TO ORIGINAL. I HAVE DONE NOTHING TO ALTER THE POSSIBILITIES FOR THIS CAR, AS I WAS NOT SURE MYSELF. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING THIS CAR OFTEN AND LAST NIGHT WENT TO ANOTHER CITY ABOUT 20 MILES AWAY. THE BODY WILL NEED REPAIR AND PAINT - THE BUMPERS AND GRILLE ARE FINE FOR RAT ROD, BUT WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED IF YOU CHOOSE TO RESTORE. THE WINDOWS ARE PRETTY GOOD ( NO CRACKS ) FRONT AND BACK, BUT THE SIDE WINDOWS ARE SPIDERED AND CRACKED/CHIPPED IN MANY AREAS - IT IS FLAT GLASS AND ANY GLASS SHOP CAN CUT THESE FOR YOU PRETTY CHEAP. I HAVE BEEN DRIVINIG THIS CAR JUST LIKE IT IS. THE WINDOWS ROLL UP AND DOWN JUST FINE. THE UPHPOLSTERY HAS BEEN REDONE FOR THE DOOR PANELS AND SEAT FRONT AND BACK & SUN VISORS, BUT THERE IS STILL SOME TRIM NEEDED FOR THE DOORS AND THE HEADLINER ALONG WITH REAR DECK AT THE BACK WINOW WILL NEED TO BE REDONE. THERE IS SOME RUST ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE CAR, BUT OVERALL ITS NOT TOO BAD; THE FLOOR PANS HAVE BEEN REPLACED BY A FRIEND OF MINE THAT DOES SHEET METAL WORK AND HE DID A PRETTY GOOD. I HAVE INSTALLED SOUNDPROOFING/INSULATION AND THEN BOUGHT THE FACTORY REPLACEMENT CARPET WITH SEAMED EDGES AND PUT IT IN THE OTHER DAY. I HAVE SPENT ALOT OF MONEY ON THIS CAR AND TRIED TO DO EVERYTHING WITH GOOD PARTS AND NOT BEEN IN A HURRY TO DO IT - MY HOPES ARE THAT SOMEONE WILL GET IT AND ENJOY WORKING ON IT AND RIDING IN IT AS MUCH AS I HAVE. I HAVE PUT A DRIVE TRAIN OUT OF A 1989 CAMARO WITH 350 AND OVERDRIVE AUTOMATIC. IT MAY HAVE A SHIFT KIT, IT WILL SHIFT VERY NICELY INTO SECOND AND IT REALLY DOES WELL WHEN IT SHIFTS INTO 4 ( OVERDRIVE ) ON THE HIGHWAY. IT CRUISES REAL NICE AT 60MPH, NOT TOO MANY RPM'S AND THE ENGINE RUNS SMOOTH. I HAVE PUT NEW SPARK PLUGS AND CHANGED THE OIL TODAY. I ALSO HAD NEW DUAL EXHAUST WITH NO MUFFLERS LAST WEEK - SHE SOUNDS PRETTY MEAN. THE BRAKES AND WHEELS BEARING ALL ALL BEEN REBUILT AND LINES REPLACED WHERE NEEDED. THE CAR STOPS VERY GOOD. NO PUMPING AND LOOKING FOR THE BRAKES. THE CAR FEELS SAFE TO DRIVE AND IT STOPS VERY WELL. IT HAS AN OOOOOOOOGUH HORN THAT IS REALLY LOUD. I HAVE INSTALLED NEW HALOGEN HEADLIGHTS AND TURN SIGNALS WITH EXTRA BRAKES LIGHTS ON THE REAR. IT LIGHTS UP GOOD AND YOU CAN SEE VERY WELL TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. OVERAll, IT IS A GREAT RIDE THAT IS READY TO BE DRIVEN JUST LIKE IT IS OR COMPLETE THE PROJECT WHILE YOU DRIVE. MECHANICALLY ( THE HARD PART ) IS DONE AND IT IS PERFECT FOR SOMEONE WHO WANTS AN OLD CAR TO TINKER WITH AND CUSTOMIZE OR RESTORE. IT IS NOT NEW AND THERE ARE MANY THINGS THAT COULD BE DONE!!!!!!!! PLEASE USE THE ENLARGE FEATURE ( I PAID EXTRA FOR IT WHEN I LISTED ) THE PICTURE ARE ACCURATE AND HAD BEEN TAKEN JUST 1 HOUR BEFORE I LISTED THE CAR. AS YOU CAN SEE I HAVE NOTY TRIED TO PAINT OR HIDE NAYTHING IN THE TRUNK OF THE CAR IT IS ORIGINAL AND THERE IS NO RUST. THE FLOOR PANS ARE PICTURED AS WELL SO THERE IS NO RUST INSIDE THE FLOOR OF THEW CAR. THE OUTSIDE OF THE CAR HAS SOME PITTING AROUND THE CHROME PC.S HERE AND THERE AND THE VERY LOWER EDGE OF THE CAR HAS SOME RUST, AS YOU MAY BE ABLE TO SEE HOW THE LOWER PC. OF CHROME WAS ATTACHED WITH SCREWS BECAUSE THE CLIPS WOULD NOT WORK ( IT WAS THAT WAY WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR ). I HAVE GIVEN A PIPCTURE OF THE SMALL RUST HOLE ON THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR TIRE AREA TO THE FRONT OF THE REAR TIRE AND THERE IS ANOTHER PLACE ON THE REAR OF THE HOOD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR. I HAVE NOT WORKED ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE CAR. THE INTERIOR AND MECHANICALLY ASPECT OF THIS PROJECT ARE WHAT I HAVE BEEN ENJOYING. i HAVE A FRIEND IN THE UPHOLSTERY BUSINESS AND I LIKE DOING MECHANICAL THINGS. A LOCAL SHOP ACTUALLY DID A LOT OF THE WIRING AND GETTING ALL THE LIGHTS WORKING, INSTALLED A NEW TURN SIGNALS MADE SURE THE CAR WAS CHARGING AS IT SHOULD AND INSTALLED THE OOOOOOGAH HORN FOR ME. THIS IS A PROJECT, BUT IS NEAR COMPLETE IN MANY ASPECTS. IT COULD BE CALLED COMPLETE AND JUST ENJOYED LIKE IT IS BY MANY WHO LIKE THE OLD RATRODS. NO RADIO AND I HAVE NOT MESSED WITH ANY OF THE GAUGES ON THE DASH. I PUT IN AN WATER TEMP, OIL PSI & VOLTAGE SO THAT I KNOW THE VITALS AND HAVE BEEN RIDING EVERY SINCE. IT DOES NOT RUN HOT AND THE OIL PSI IS AROUND 50 WHEN FIRST STARTED AND GOES DOWN THE ROAD WHEN AT 180 DEGREES AT ABOUT 25. THE ALUMINUM RADIATOR KEEPS THE ENGINE RIGHT BETWEEN 180 AND 190 WITHOUT EVEN RUNNING THE FANS. OF COURSE, ITS WINTER, I AM SURE THE FAN WOULD BE NEEDED IN THE SUMMER. THE VOLTAGE IS AT 13.5 TO 14 - SO EVERYTHING IS OKAY AND AT ACCEPTABLE LEVELS FOR YOU TO RIDE WHEVER YOU WANT TO GO. I HAVE TAKEN A FEW TRIPS ON THE HIGHWAY FOR 12 TO 20 MILES. THE OVERDRIVE TRANSMISSION IS REALLY NICE.
