I just purchased this car from the same dealer I bought my 2001 740i from, I had problems with mine so he basically gave me the 1997 to make it right. I first thought about taking the parts off the 97 to fix mine but decided against it. The issue with the 1997 is: The Transmission, it will go into Reverse but not take off in any of the forward drive gears, only if you start to push it first. Maybe the internal pump or a linkage..... Whatever the case, I DO NOT have the means to fix the transmission or find a used one, just not in the cards for me. The engine is sound, it will crank no problem and goes into Reverse smoothly but I decided against driving to work or the store in reverse, Im good but not THAT good. I would just like to get it out of the yard for a fair price. I know someone can make a bunch from selling the parts or putting it back on the road. The dealer still has the title but that will not be a problem for the person that buys it. I wil send anyone any information I can, this is not a gip, scam, stolen car, nothing like that. It is exactly as I have put it in writing. I can also let you hear it run etc. Just communicat with me via email and I may contact you over the phone. Currently I do not have a way to transport or ship the vehicle. This will be the responsibility of the buyer. I am in the Tallahassee, Florida area. 32312 or 31792
