In my opinion, after 30 years of selling Mercedes Benzes throughout the world, this is, without a question, a moving work of art. It has been extremely well maintained both mechanically and cosmetically. The body is particularly sound without any rust issues. The odometer reads 41,386 miles which we assume means that it has been driven less that 5,600 miles per year for a total of 141,386 miles but it looks like a 4,031 mile masterpiece. There were very few of the Ponton with the high grille made and that makes this a very rare specimen indeed. When you think about the 220S Ponton going for well over $15,000.00 today it makes you realize that this exceptional example will not be far behind in escalating value. It is finished in a German Blue with an impeccable Gray interior, highlighted with beautifully kept walnut woodwork . It is fitted with the Mercedes 1.9L straight 4 cylinder engine which affords one excellent handling and driving pleasure. It is fully 4 on the tree manual trans; four wheel drum brakes, and tight handling suspension. I am immensely proud of this moving work of art and I truly believe you will never find another in this pristine condition at this price. Everywhere I go, I get outstanding compliments.
