Vehicle Detail
A very rare, nice, low mileage, beautiful Black, laser straight, 1968 Chrysler Crown Imperial convertible: a California car most of its life. The chrome is in great shape all around the car. The interior is white and the front seats have recently been re-upholstered. The vehicle has been repainted the original Black color, looks awesome. I am the third owner. This black beauty is driven weekly thru-out the Sacramento valley. Four brand new radial tires and new brakes have been installed. New black carpets // new battery // power windows // power steering // radio works good // horn works // wipers work // no A/C. Original 440c.i., 350 H.P engine has been rebuilt. The original bulletproof 727 Torque Flight transmission has been rebuilt. The carburetor is a new Edelbrock 4bb. Only 473 of these convertibles were made in 1968, the last year of production for the Imperial convertibles. Have all receipts. This land yacht drives like a dream, pure elegance as you purr down the highway at 75 mph. The California title is in my name and has current 2011registration. The new power top works perfectly; goes up and down with ease, as it should. With Factory bucket seats and console, all power options, original 440 CID V-8 Motor, coupled with a smooth 727 (D32) 3-speed torqueflite transmission and a 4bb Edelbrock carburetor for maximum power and performance on the highway. The odometer shows 93K. This is one of Mopar’s biggest and most luxurious jewels. These massive machines offered a great blend of power, elegance, luxury and sport. In 1968, production of these magnificent convertibles was limited to approximately 473. How many of these survived in this great of condition? New convertible top, new convertible top motor, new carpet throughout, all new interior, classic white interior, factory radio in place (does work), automatic 727 3-speed torqueflite transmission, power steering that does not leak, excellent paint quality on exterior, clean and straight exterior trim. Take a look at the lines on this beauty. What an awesome looking ragtop! It is nice driving and sound great with the throaty sound, and cruises like a dream. We drove the car from Sacramento County to San Francisco last week with no problems and not bad mileage to boot; 102 miles each way. A very trouble free vehicle: suitable as a daily driver if you wish. All features work except clock and no A/C. If you can fly to Sacramento and take a look at this dream boat and drive this baby for yourself, you won’t be disappointed!! Nice dash (classic black) with no cracks. Over $1,000 was recently spent on repairs such as: · engine/carburetor tune-up · replaced plugs, points, plug wires, rotor cap, etc. · timing was set · changed motor oil and oil filter · lubed chassis · replaced fuel filter, fuel pump and all fuel hoses The tires are new radials. This is a great investment opportunity and it is priced right. This is a collector car you won’t see at every stop light. The new white convertible top is driven by a new factory power top motor. This is one of the easiest tops to put up and down that I have ever seen and it works perfectly. Wow! Artic white top and classic white interior – what a groovy combination! It doesn’t get any better than this! This vehicle is in nice condition and runs very well – what a freeway cruiser with the top down, going 75 mph and everyone looking at you with ewes and awes of amazement. Chrysler was so far advanced in their engineering department compared to the other “Big Three.” Take a look at the lines of this beauty: straight and smooth Please do not bid on this auction unless you are serious. We want to find a private party that will appreciate and drive the car themselves and keep for awhile. ü Factory seat belts (front and rear) ü Fender mounted turn indicators that work ü Good heater and defroster…that work ü New power convertible top and new top motor ü Nice factory original front seat headrests ü Perfect glass – all the way around ü Power windows that work – they go up and down…all the way ü Original, life-long, California care with no rust ü One of 473 ever built ü Rare factory bucket seats with console ü This car has the 440 ci motor ü Automatic transmission ü Front disc brakes ü Power brake booster and master cylinder ü Recent paint job ü New carpet ü New front seat interior ü Factory radio that works ü Nice original chrome ü Original dash – no cracks! ü All cluster gauges work minus clock ü Sun visors in great condition ü Sweet original grill ü Bumper (front and rear) in nice shape ü Smooth D32 HD 727 Torqueflite 3-speed transmission ü Fully functional windshield wipers ü CID 440 V-8 engine (350 HP) ü Awesome original wheels and covers Don’t let this lead sled get away – what a value! You would be hard pressed to find a cleaner straighter 68 Chrysler Crown Imperial convertible in better overall condition than this baby…unless it was a trailer queen/#1 show car. This is a 3+ driver that is driven on a regular basis and NOT sitting in a garage most of its life: always a California car. We don’t have hundreds of pictures like the dealers have, but we have front to back, top to bottom. More pictures can be emailed if seriously interested. For some reason, this powerful tuna boat generates more tire kickers and bored retirees that just like to chat about their old Imperial they wished they still had, but don’t want to spend any money on another one….and how fabulous their careers were. This car comes with a clear California title (pink slip) and is being sold as is, where is. The car is also being advertised locally and we reserve the right to end the action early. Please ask questions. Thank you and good luck bidding. This powerhouse will ride like a dream all the way home – no matter where home is.
