Vehicle Detail
Another car opportunity has come up so I am thinking of parting with my 1958 4 Door Chevy. The pictures are of when the car was together. I tore it down again to piece the car out. I thought I would try to sell it as a whole first. The drive train is still in the car, but other than that the front end (fenders, radiator support, etc...) is disassembled. It is ready to be painted now, if you want to re-paint it. Right now it is a "ten-footer" (looks OK from 10 feet away). This car is for sale locally so the auction may end if sold here. I will only accept paypal, or cash. $500 dollars within 48 hours of winning the bid. The reserve will be set a bit lower than my asking price. Remember, if you have a 2-dr body, the frames are all the same for 1958 models. Any questions, you can e-mail me at william.hewitt@mchsi.com. Thanks Bill -New Smoked Door Glass Windows -New Front Power Windows -Original Back Window (Good Shape) -All Window, Bumpers, Tail-Lights, Front Hood Chrome are there -Front Grill is in Good Shape -New Headlight Buckets and Trim -New Car Wiring Harness -Original 1958 Radio - One Tube Broken (I have the tube, there are replacements) -New Bushings throughout the car -New shocks and Coil Springs -New Remote Door Poppers -Shaved Door Handles -New Internal Door and Window Handles -New Radio Knobs -Rebuilt Rear End and Back Drum Brakes -Front Power Disk Brake System -All Rust has been found and replaced with new sheet metal -Chevrolet 350 Cubic Inch -New Holly 650 4-Barrel Carburetor -New Water pump -New Fan -New 3-Core Radiator -New Edelbrock Intake Manifold -New Air Cleaner .Transmission -Newly rebuilt 700R4 Transmission New Hurst 700R4 Shifter -New Flaming River Tilt Steering Wheel -New Hot Rod Steering Wheel -New 605 Power Steering Box and Pump -The interior has been gutted and needs the following: (All interior needs readily available) .Seat Foam and Covers .Carpet .Headliner .Dash Cover - unless you want to paint it, is steel . Trunk Rubber Matting -All chrome on car is driver quality The catch.. The car needs to be put back together. All rust has been removed and new METAL welded in. I painted the car myself. It is some sort of tint of red. There is a bit of orange peel, but completed about 3/4 of the wet sanding. I have the back window but not the windshield (this is easily available). I have all the chrome for the car. The chrome is of driver quality. Some of the chrome pieces that I bought off e-bay that are in great shape. The engine and tranny is in. I have new internal hardware (door hardware, radio knobs, etc.. The inside is completely tore down. Seats will have to have restoration, carpet and headliner installed. Tried to paint metal dash, did not turn out well, needs to be stripped down and done again. There is a 1958 restoration place in Minn that sells only 1958 parts. So all parts are available, if needed as well as tech support There prices are great and they have great support. This is a great project with all of the pieces there. The hardwork is done. It just needs someone who wants a hobby and wants to put there own touch onto it. I have the build manual, the original shop book, as well as a reproduction shop book. Can come and look at anytime. The transmission was $1100 by itself.
