Vehicle Detail
1956 Packard Patrician From it's many faceted grillework, all along the flow of its broad Caribbean-inspired side molding, to the crisp lines of the rear deck, the Packard Patrician brings you the easy grace of luxurious living. In it, you see the clean clearly defined styling that only the master designer was capable of. From the great deep-breathing V8 engine, you can summon the brilliant performance that only Packard master motor builders can build into an engine. In the deep hush of the Patrician's interior, you see the work of the inspired decorator expressed in fabric, color and appointment. In every way, you will find the Patrician conceived and built to lead the kind of life you love ..... (This from the original sales brochure - still holds true today!) For your consideration is my 1956 Packard Patrician I purchased just last year. This is a VERY NICE one and I would not be selling this car if I weren't about to get another Packard I have been after for the past 5 years ... This Patrician is great for shows, but is also a fantastic driver! Good working accessories, runs and drives like new, and has a lot of history/documentation spanning the last 40+ years (including the original sales contract - framed for display) ... The original colors of Persian Aqua and Dover White are just beautiful in person (last painted in 2001 -- all chrome and stainless removed -- a very good job) and this car has many great features and rare options. Certainly a lot of car for the money and the last great luxury car Packard would produce. One of the best, if not the best, 1950's luxury car ever made. Equipped as follows: 374ci V8 Engine (290 hp) Ultramatic (Automatic) Transmission Push-Button Gear Selector Wonder-Bar Radio Rear Speaker Power Steering Power Brakes Power Windows Power Seat Power Antenna Under-Seat Heaters Factory Tinted Glass Factory Dual Exhaust (through bumper) Padded Dash Windshield Washer This is the last year that a true Packard was built (the ’57 and ’58 models were actually re-labeled Studebakers and were built in South Bend). The base price on this model from the factory was $4,190.00 … Only 3,775 Packard Patricians were built in 1956 with only 114 remaining today. This could be the only one of it's kind with these colors and options. This model is considered to be a 'Milestone Car' in automotive evolution. Packard Motor Car Company was in production 1904 to 1956. A really great car and investment at this price.
