We just recently picked this 1997 Dodge Ram 3500 Diesel 5 speed 4x4 dually from a charity auction we do business with. This truck was a purple heart donated unit. After going over this truck and driving it we have noticed 2 issues that we would like to mention, 1st the clutch is high and starting to slip however can be driven, 2nd there is rust on the rockers below both doors and on the drivers fender as can be seen in the pictures. The underneath of the truck and cab mounts are solid as is the frame also solid just some minor surface rust underneath. There is also some scratches around the body and the clear is peeling off the paint in the front fender area. The interior is in good shape with only the rug needing a good cleaning possibly coffee stains. You will not be dissapointed in this truck it fires right up and runs smoothly down the highway with 6 decent tires. We priced a new clutch and our cost is 250 dollars for the parts and as far as the body work, buy to rocker patch panels and you will have a nice truck. The back bumper is showing rust and there was a goose neck at one time installed in the bed of the truck. You can drive this truck home as long as you dont go heavy on riding the clutch, I know that because I drove it for a couple days with no problem. Any questions feel free to call jim at 215-416-5282
