Vehicle Detail

Before you and up for bid is a very nicely restored quality 1963 FORD GALAXIE 500, 2 door hardtop (post delete). An extremely clean & solid, RUST FREE 500 that spent its life in Texas & Kansas. Purported to have been in the same family since new. I am awaiting decoding of the door tag, the tag information is as follows: Body Color Trim Date DSO Axle Trans 65A M 25 27C 1 4 Restored correctly in 2005, garaged, pampered & seldom driven since then. ($4K repaint) Non-smoker, no pets The interior was beautifully redone in corresponding red to complement the lipstick red and ready exterior. (seats, door panels, carpet, etc.) Low mileage of approx. 42K, believed to be actual. Powered by a 390 V8 equipped with the triple 2-barrel carb setup. Very clean under the hood with NO drips or leaks anywhere. C-4 automatic transmission. Subtle low rumble dual exhaust. New 17" American Racing chrome wheels with new Falken tires all around. Presentable, very nice chrome & trim throughout, excellent grill with no breaks or bends. Original glass, no chips or cracks. All safety features operate accordingly. Heater and defroster operate properly, the clock is tempermental. Just figure that when you're in the Galaxie, it's time to have fun! JVC CD stereo The Galaxie looks, runs & drives great! It always turns heads, receives compliments and makes people smile. While it is not a show car, it is a very nice 500 that one can drive anywhere and display with pride of ownership! It is an affordable family classic that will not require one to break the bank to own. Original books, keys, spare, jack & tire tool. Please consult with your spouse, therapist, pet or Magic 8 Ball prior to placing your bid as I am not running a clinic for the confused. Thank you. You are bidding to purchase the Galaxie, not to be the first to look at it. Inspections are welcomed, however, they need to be scheduled & conducted prior to the close of the auction. Thank you. I have set a reasonable reserve commensurate with the condition of the Galaxie, the present economy & the present collector market. Thank you. A $1000.00 initial payment is due and payable within 24 hours of auction close. Thank you. The balance is then due & payable within 7 days thereafter under condition & arrangement made between myself & the buyer. Thank you. I prefer a legitimate bank to bank wire transfer, it provides a documented record of the transaction for both parties. Thank you. Please do not ask what my reserve is, I will not disclose it. Look at the pictures & bid with confidence what you are willing to pay. Please have your funding in place prior to placing your bid. Thank you. Pick up or delivery is the sole responsibility of the buyer. I will gladly assist & coordinate with your chosen shipper. Trailered delivery is possible in the lower 48 states for $1000.00. (non-negotiable as diesel fuel costs are on the rise again) I believe that the Galaxie could be driven home to anywhere in America. If you chose to fly in & drive home, I will gladly pick you up at the Colorado Spgs. airport. I am not a dealer or professional eBayer. I am a collector/hobbyist that is downsizing my collection. Additional area specific pictures are available upon request. Feel free to call me directly with any questions, I am readily available. I answer my phone quicker than I respond to email. If you wish to discuss a "Buy It Now", call me directly to do so. Thanks for looking & good luck when you bid! It simply was not entirely rolled up or down, depending on ones perspective. Thanks. On Jan-19-11 at 11:33:52 PST, seller added the following information: I have had a few offers of trades...thank you, no, I am NOT interested in any trades. In addition, there have been a number of inquiries made with regard to the engine: I was informed that the engine was rebuilt prior to the restoration. I can tell you that it turns over the first time and holds idle while warming, no hiccups or rough idling at all. The engine bay is incredibly clean, as is the entire motor. There is no caked up grease present. A good "motor head" friend has indicated that it sounds as though it might have a cam. I cannot substantiate this, however, the car is docile and quite streetable. So, if it does, it is a mild one. Also, it does have a posi-traction rear end, though I do not know of what gear ratio. On Jan-19-11 at 13:14:07 PST, seller added the following information: FYI: I'll leave this to the Ford purists to decide...yes, the manifolds are "half head", meaning that they are half of the head... an unusual manifold that I'm told was the set up Ford utilized on the 406. I am unsure as to whether Ford did so on the 390. The information I have is conflicting, as I've heard both. In addition, all the correct linkage is in place for the triple deuces set up and they most assuredly operate properly. On Jan-20-11 at 09:18:37 PST, seller added the following information: With slightly less than a day and a half remaining, I have lowered the reserve considerably. The Galaxie is priced to sell !!
