Vehicle Detail
Car was purchased new and well maintained but Fiancee wanted a new car. She has one brand new tire and 3 that are nearing the end of their life and brakes that will also need replaced soon but otherwise is in really good condition. There is only a tiny bit of surface rust in two spots (driver rear wheel well and driver side window at top) and normal paint wear for a car of this age and the interior is in exception condition. There is a crack in the front windshield that has been that way for about a year not getting worse and doesn't leak so she never replaced it. At 144,000 miles I'm told it has less than half of it's useful life used up as these can easily go for 300,000 miles. We have newly replaced the front wheel bearings, plugs, wires, and coil. It also has a new dual radiator fan and relay and new belts. This is a great first car or beyond. The miles were mostly driven mixed between shorter half hour trips and longer trips from Des Moines to Chicago area. The auto fill description says sunroof and power driver seat but that isn't the case on this model. On Jan-05-11 at 07:02:42 PST, seller added the following information: I'm not looking to make a lot of money on the car and given the repairs noted above and all I have set the buy it now just under good trade value and the reserve just above fair trade value (rounding basically) both of which are well under the private party value as per KBB. It's always been a great car for my Fiancee so you can use it for that or make the repairs and resell for a profit it you choose. For those wondering why this was relisted twice now. It seems the Nigerian scammers selected buy it now twice now. The first time eBay didn't catch it but this second time they did but while they gave me credit for the final fee billing they didn't for the listing fee so I have to go after that as well as the final listing fee for the first. UGH! Apparently to block foreign bidders you have to go through a lot of steps to keep them from your auctions. I finally got all those steps down so lets see if we can get this to be real for once. Sigh. OH...and I forgot to add... the car also has a new battery and fuel filter. On Jan-11-11 at 12:40:10 PST, seller added the following information: Sorry for the Paypal account required but that is about the only way to stop the people pulling the Nigerian scam from using the buy it now. Since it requires a $1k deposit within 48 hours via paypal anyway shouldn't be a big deal. I also wanted to point out that the car is as is where is. So if you buy it you can come get it or after payment clears you can indeed have someone else pick it up but I would require you to give me the name and identification information of that person I can confirm they are picking it up on your behalf. If you want to have a freight company come pick it up from my home that is fine too although if they have a heavy truck I'd ask them to drive it up on the street rather than the drive as it is winter and sometimes the big trucks can't make it up my drive if it is icy. I've tried to describe the vehicle as well as possible. I'm not a mechanic although I have replaced a number of components as indicated... basically this car has been serviced at Firestone and if there has ever been an issue that I couldn't determine they diagnosed and I repaired. Sometimes I went a bit above like the radiator fans stopped working and I replaced them...the fans were fine but the relay was out so now it has a new relay and new fans. So lastly, someone asked and I forgot to mention. The transmission was checked out by the dealer and they said it was good then it suddenly stopped going into gear about 6 months ago so I had it towed to a transmission place... they also said the transmission was good but the shift cable had busted. So it also has a new shift cable. As to why I'm selling it....I've put enough effort and new parts into the car I should keep it now but I now have 4 vehicles so have to give up one...and I'm not giving up my Armada or my Convertible and my son was promised my Grand Prix. :)
