Vehicle Detail
1990 PORSCHE 922 S2. Superb straight, accident-free body in original guards red paint, just the regular small stone chips on the nose (8.5/10) with cream and black interior (8/10) Perfect dash with no cracks. Small wear spot in drivers side carpet. original Blaupunkt Radio/cassette. Very strong 3.0L 4 valve twin-cam engine, great oil pressure, Brad Penn racing oil and Mahle oil filter every 3K. Belts and cam chain tensioner pads done at 140K. New Mahle air filter. New front pads. New heater control valve. Freezing cold air-conditioning. Owned by PCA club member. The car is not showroom condition but is in well above average condition. Regularly maintained and serviced, it has been my daily driver for some three years now (never tracked) and has been as reliable as my wife's Camry. I would confidently drive it across the country. This is a great driver's car, but it's now time to look into a 911. The clutch release bearing has a bit of rattle but the clutch is still good for a number of years according to the mechanic (the PO had installed a new spring centered clutch not long before I purchased it). I would like to get the throw out bearing replaced just because I like things to be perfect, but with all my commitments I just don't have time to have it done. I was quoted $700 to replace it. Hence the lower price to account for someone who may want to get it replaced (or not). The shop said that the bearing was fine and could be replaced when it was time for a new clutch. There are two very small tears at the seams of the front passenger seat (under 1/2 an inch) otherwise all the leather has no tears at all. Good S2's are getting much harder to find with only 3560 imported into the country and a lot of S2's are turned into highly competitive track cars. This color and interior combination gets lots of attention and comments. Comes with original owners manual, Porsche mirror covers, front number plate holder and two set of keys, Porsche tool kit and pump and a thick binder of maintenance receipts. I can also recommend a local shipper who is excellent. http://bamaautomovers.net DETAILS:Accident free body with original Guards Red paint in great condition.Strong motor, with no oil leaks whatsoever. I do not have the brake pad wear sensors installed but a new set (4) will come with the car.Transmission has a small leak at one of the gaskets.I'm looking over the car closely over the next day to see if I can find things that may be in need of attention. I just want to be upfront and fully disclose all the issues with the car.
