The doors, trunk, and hood align correctly. Open the doors to 1962. The interior features original upholstery in amazing condition, only minimum wear on the drivers side shows. The cloth patterns are bright, and the interior is not stained. This is an always garaged example. This is especially evident by the condition of the seats and quality of the ride and drive. The speedometer and surrounding brightwork and equipment is 100% intact and showing very well. The signal seeker AM radio and power antenna operate perfectly. The front ashtray has obviously never been used, an unusual observation of this great Caddy. Our 62's dash features the autotronic eye. The coloration is bright. It is straight and exceptional, with with two cracks observed on the passenger side (photoed). The rear seat area doesn't appear to have been used much, by its pristine original condition. The door panels are beautiful and original. The optional power locks are fully operational as are the power windows. The courtesy lighting is functional throughout. The door undersides are also very dry and solid thanks to this car being kept in dry conditions. 1962 Cadillac's featured toned-down fins, however the car was still a jet-age designed luxury machine. Low and comfortable, this car rides and drives like a dream. The finish is in very good condition, with minor imperfections on close inspection. The body is exceptionally nice, indicative of this Cadillac's dry climate status. This car showcases much of the original paint. It looks to have had one exterior repaint some time ago that shows very well. The sheetmetal is original and in excellent shape. The rockers are original and very nice, one area of pencil head bubbles are isolated. The original E-Z Eye Tinted Glass is intact and very nice throughout the car. The door jambs display the original paint and the original plastic identification tag along with a 24 year old Texaco service sticker. The trunk is clean and detailed, complete with the Firestone "Gum-Dipped" Whitewall Poly Spare and jacking equipment. The trunk locking mechanism features a unique Cadillac signature. Not only is this trunk lid remote operated from the driver's seat, it closes tight automatically with slight pressure. The front brightwork is unmistakable and original in this classic Cadillac. Under the hood is the original 390 c.i 4bbl. V8 engine rated at 325 horsepower. This is the low mileage original powerplant and it runs excellent. It is very dry and displays much of the original paint finish throughout. This is the un-detailed, original engine compartment. The firewall, inner fenders, and core support are in excellent condition. The undercarriage displays exceptionally nice original framework, floorpans, and trunk pan with no patchwork. This is a Dallas, Texas car and is shows. A lady or gentleman has to take notice of Cadillac's many features, including factory cruise control, air conditioning, power steering, and power brakes. The original trim identification plate is intact, detailing the original Sage finish, Light Green Interior and a number of accessories. This is a well equipped Cadillac. This car is also optioned with the "controlled differential" We commonly call it posi-traction. This Four-Dour Hardtop Caddy rides on its original 15-inch wheels wrapped in P235/75/R15 inch whitewall radial tires. These photos were taken in Dallas, Texas, while cruising through the city.
