Vehicle Detail
2000 Ford Excursion, XLT equipment group, 4X4, V-10 gasoline engine, automatic transmission. I purchased this truck a couple of months ago with the intention of putting camo vehicle wrap on it and using it as a hunting truck. I have since purchased a new F250 and do not need the Excursion anymore. The vehicle is equipped with all power options, a CD changer in the center console, and some sort of aftermarket rear seat entertainment system. We have not been able to figure out the rear entertainment system, but it does power up....the screen just stays blank. The truck runs quiet and smooth, and the transmission shifts like it is supposed to. No smoke, leaks, or obvious problems. When I bought the truck, I discovered one of the locking hubs was bad, so I replaced both hubs, along with the wheel bearings and axle shafts. I had this work done at my local 4X4 shop and they used Warn hubs...not some used junk from the wrecking yard! I have the receipt for he repair which was over $2,100. I also put a set of tires on the Excursion that came off my pickup...they have about 50-60% tread left. I also replaced the gas shocks on the hood and rear liftgate as they were all pretty shot and the hood and liftgate tended to sag when open. I also had 3 coils, boots, and plugs replaced because they had been overtorqued and the boots were cracked. This repair was $450, and I have the receipt for this also. The only negatives about the truck are as follows: The upholstery is in marginal shape at best...especially the front seats. They both have tears and worn spots in the leather. My plan was to put a set of seat covers on, but I'll leave that up to the next owner. Driver's seat is power, and all functions work, they just don't look all that great! The back two rows are in a little better shape and would probably be fine to leave as-is. The carpet is pretty worn, but for a work or hunting truck this shouldn't be an issue. The headliner is intact, but has a few small stains here and there. The other negative is that the windshield is cracked, but it is below eye-level, so it doesn't interfere with the driver or passenger's view. I was quoted $200 for a new one, and if this is a huge issue I can replace it. The power locks do not work....may be a switch. When you punch the button, they try to work, but do not move enough to engage fully. Manually they all work fine. The door ajar light stays on all the time on the dash....could be a sensor on one of the doors. There is one small scratch/dent on the driver's side rear quarter panel. It is approximately 6" wide and 1/2" deep. I have it shown in the pictures. I have driven the truck almost daily with no issues, including several 100 mile round trips to one of our ranches. It is just a solid older truck. Would make a great hunting vehicle.....you could bring all your friends along! I might be willing to consider trades for farm equipment, four wheelers, etc. Truck is also for sale locally, so auction may end if it sells here. I have done my best to describe the vehicle, please e-mail any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Obviously, the truck is 10 tears old and has 200,000+ miles on it, so there is NO WARRANTY of any kind expressed or implied. I will be glad to asist in shipping if you are out of state. I'll gladly drive the truck to the nearest shipping terminal for you. Ships from zip code 79606 if you want to get a quote. I have used DAS before on a truck I bought from Ohio, and they were great to work with.
