1998 BMW 740iL (E38) Black on Black 141K Miles 4.4L M62 V8, Automatic Fully Loaded (Heated Leather Seats, Navigation, 6-Disc CD Changer, Sunroof, factory car phone even!). No Rear Sunshade. CA Car- no Rust 2-Owner, All Records. Original Manuals, Three keys. Upgrades: M Style Spoiler Clear Corners Matte Black Grill Smoked Taillights The History- A close family friend purchased this car new in 1998 from Brecht BMW in San Diego, CA. Car was dealer maintained until ~90K miles, and I have all the service records from every dealer trip, smog check, oil change, etc. Car had Lo-Jack and window tint installed at time of purchase. Unfortunately, this friend of ours passed away and my family purchased the car off his estate. From 90K-132K miles the car was maintained by a private mechanic, and again, I have all the records. Last December it was given to me as my family had upgraded to a newer, smaller car, and since 132K I have personally maintained it. Has received Inspection I & II, and a partial list of the new repairs- New Battery, Radiator, MAF, Thermostat, Lower Thrust Arms, Window regulators, Belts, OSV. It’s rare to find a car with all records as this one has. Exterior is a 7 out of 10; there is some minor clear coat issues on the roof (finger in the picture for scale), and rock chips across the front. Paint is in good condition, but needs a good clay-bar and buffing to restore it. Minor scratches on the corners of the bumper strips, and here/there on the body. A minor dent on the front driver’s fender from someone lightly hitting it in a parking lot, finger in the picture for scale. No Rust, other damage. I didn’t have a chance to clean the engine bay, but it’s in good shape. Interior is a 9 of 10; leather is in great shape and has factory floor mats in good shape. I’m fairly fanatical about keeping the interior clean. Front Cupholders do not work. Has a stealth mounted Escort Radar Detector control module, but not the actual radar detector it’s self. Issues: -Airbag Light came on one day last winter. It’s still on. -Windshield has a crack in the middle from the passenger side until the middle. Does not obstruct Driver’s view, and isn’t spreading. -No Cats; they were gutted about 6 months ago as they were failing. The flaps need to be welded shut, or the cats replaced if you plan to emissions it. This obviously sets the CEL off every 500-700 miles with the P0420 code. Will provide a code reader if you desire to reset this on a regular basis. -Usual Pixel issues on the dash. -Tires have minimal tread (3/32’s or so) on them. -Passenger's Foglight lens just cracked (rock) Car is available for a test drive in Denver, CO. Will help with shipping if buyer requests it, or can pick up buyers at the Airport.
