Vehicle Detail

1986 Dodge Shelby Charger 2.2L Fuel injected, turbocharged engine 5 speed manual transmission (A-525, rod-shifted) Engine rebuilt by the previous owner with stronger internal parts, ~2000 miles on engine since rebuild. Unsure of current odometer reading. I believe the engine is NOT a "common block" bottom end. Records check indicates over 100K on the body. Originally black with silver stripe, repainted to solid gloss black. Frame is starting to get some light rust on it; body panels are all solid except for right rear fender well that has some small rust holes in it. Stock 1.85" exhaust has been replaced with 2.25" standard bent exhaust starting after the turbocharger. It currently has a race muffler and no catalytic converter. The car has bald, flat low-profile tires on it. The interior is in good shape for being nearly a quarter century old, the headliner fabric has been torn away, but otherwise the seats and carpet look ok. The window glass is in good shape and there is a hand crank sunroof. The rear window has black louvers installed. A Mopar "Stage II" performance computer has been installed, and a manual boost controller has been installed on the turbocharger to keep the engine from overpowering the transmission. An A-pillar gauge cluster is installed and has a boost gauge and digital air/fuel ratio gauge installed. The previous owner told me the A/F gauge was not reading properly. I have owned the car since 2006, when I bought it locally from a guy looking to get rid of it due to having too many projects. He had used it mainly as a drag car, if I recall correctly. I brought it home on a trailer, intending to turn it into a street car, adding an intercooler and stronger transmission. However, I never got around to doing those things. The car idled rough, so I removed and drained the gas tank, thinking that the old gas may have degraded in there. Unfortunately, I never got around to putting it back together. The car has not been run since summer of 2007. The car has been sitting with a car cover under a lean-to since I brought it home in 2006. You would have to arrange for some sort of trailering or possibly towing to take it away. I can not deliver the car for you. Payment by cash only upon pickup. On Jan-03-11 at 20:18:58 PST, seller added the following information: The odometer rolls over at 99999 miles back to 00000, there lies the false report of the odometer rollback. With 5000+ showing on the odometer. it triggered the roolback flag at the DMV.
