Vehicle Detail

Introduction: Up for auction is a 1979 Camaro Z28 time capsule with only 104k original miles. This car is an Arizona car and has lived all of its life until 2006 in the dry climate of the desert. It has never been in snow until I took it out to take these pictures. Inside and out, top to bottom this car is very original and in an exceptionally preserved state. Let's spend some time taking a closer look. Exterior: Drenching all of the original factory sheet metal is a brilliant snow white finish. The paint flows seamlessly and nearly flawlessly over and around all of the classic F body lines and contours. The paint and body are in excellent condition with absolutely no rust or other damage. The car has seen one repaint over its life. There are a couple of small rock chips but most of them are confined to the nose and have been touched up. The Z28 graphics are in excellent condition as well with no cracks or scrapes. They are vibrant and sharp. All of the original glass is in excellent condition with no cracks or chips. Interior: Open either door and step into classic Camaro custom cloth interior. Every piece in the interior of this car is original with the exception of the radio. The door panels, carpet, console, headliner seats etc are in great original condition. They do show some signs of wear but they have not been abused. The door panels, headliner, front and rear seats look brand new. The carpet has a few spots where the sun has faded it, but it is still in good presentable condition. The dash does have some fading from the desert sun and it also has a small crack. The original floor mats are pretty faded, but they are the originals. Power windows work great, all of the gauges operate correctly with the exception of the in dash clock. The t-tops are removed and replaced with ease and all of the windows seal up very nicely. Most of my interior pictures for some reason have a white blur in them, I think snowflake or something got on the lens of the camera. Mechanical: Bump the ignition and bring to life the matching numbers Chevrolet 350 small block V8. She fires right up and does not smoke at start up or any other time. The car is very strong and runs great. I wouldn't hesitate to drive this car across the country. Cruising at any speed is stable and smooth, which makes for an enjoyable driving experience. I have not found any leaks or drips on the garage floor either. She features a 4 barrel carb, power steering, power disc brakes, air conditioning, and original turbine wheels. The undercarriage is just as nicely preserved as the top side of the car. The dry Arizona climate has kept the floors, trunk, and frame rails rust and corrosion free and very clean and solid. Details: Thank you for taking the time to walk around this gorgeous 1979 Camaro Z28.
